***Oct 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

@mindyru I put the one that said 45(3^k) or something like that because if you plug in 1 for k in that, you get 135, which is the next # in the sequence.

The 5,15,45 one was 45(3^k). When k = 1 you get 45*3 which is the 4th term of the sequence

@mindyru‌ I HAD NO CLUE that one made absolutely no sense to me

Scores are coming out October 28 guys:)

@Marrissa‌ I HOPE. I’m so mad. I’m usually a boss at the writing section, but that essay was so terrible, it’s going to bring down my score ugh

That makes sense…wow I could’ve definitely gotten that correct. It was worder strangely so I was confused

Worded*

I got 45(3^k) as well

I want to go back and retake it…I’d probably get a 2300 lol I make such stupid mistakes.

average for the other numbers … can someone tell me the full question?

I didn’t think the essay was too bad. For examples I put,
There were 4 fights in my school in one day (i was wondering what to put, thank god that happened)
S.E. Hinton’s novel “the outsiders” the disparity among the socs and the greasers
Jaycee Chan (jackie Chan’s son) was caught with marijuana in Beijing china

What is the question that had qualification and humorous inquiry as choices?

I want to write my essay over so bad ugh. It was the only part of the test where I felt really disappointed in myself. I’ve written like 16 practice essays at least - all of which were 11’s and 12’s according to my tutor-, and yet I completely messed up the one that actually counts.

@blubrrybanana22‌ it was like the guy wrote a poem but it would be good if it got finished. the if it got finished was a qualification

Oh God. Math KILLED me. Critical reading seemed strangely straightforward; not sure if it’s that a good thing or not.
I almost had a heart attack when I saw the writing prompt, but I soldiered through and wrote two pages. The wait for my score is going to be awful :frowning:

I’ve never bought a prep book. I’ve always studied with the free book provided by my school. This may be the reason my scores don’t accurately reflect my potential.

I wrote about how teaching it in schools would rob young people of the opportunity to discover and develop these qualities for themselves. I talked about Thomas Edison and how he was made fun of for his hearing impediment in school, which caused him to drop out, and yet was able to take this and become stronger and more resilient - and I was just about to write about Lord of the Flies, but then I ran out of time and scraped out some BS conclusion. I was really hoping for a more broad, open-ended prompt.

Was the k one 6?

Did anyone else think that the math section was so awful?

what was the exact squirrel question in the writing section? I got “to take advantage” because of parallelism with rising
