Altruistic means that you’re being selfless, and “Free riding” is the polar opposite of altruistic

I remember putting altruistic

@amyamyluo YES PLEASE I keep having to refresh the page every 10 seconds :/

@FuzzyPeaches22

Free riding means that you are working for your own individual goals. The author is saying that that’s potentially altruistic because for me to accomplish my own goals, I might need to help you out.

Free riding does not mean you are not contributing to a project. It means you are working on a separate project that may not be in the collaboration of others. The author is saying you might need to collaborate because its going to benefit you.

do you want to open one? I don’t know how to start one…

hey guys would 6 wrong cr no skip be around 700?

@alison12 I think I said 1.2

@ah1217 I put it as obvious, because it said something along the lines of “Free riding clearly exists” on the lines referred, so I thought that it meant that Free riding was something that is obvious and well noted.

@ah1217 No free riding does not mean that. It means being lazy and not doing work which is no way altruistic.

But wasnt it talking about how “free riding” could be potentially good, not really using its literal meaning, and proving a different point than what it actually means…?

Can someone please provide me with a range?

Writing: 11 essay-5 wrong

Math: 2 blank, 2 wrong

Reading: 5 wrong.

and would math 2 skip, 3 grid- ins wrong but they dont count negatively ,and 3 actually wrong be like a 670 with curve?

@ah1217 I put obvious for the free riding too

@ah1217

Free loader: to impose upon another’s generosity or hospitality without sharing in the cost or responsibility involved : sponge.

Free riding means you are not contributing to the project. If we were in a group, but you were doing all the work and I just sat around watching TV, then I would be a “free loader”. It means you are taking advantage of others hardwork by not contributing but still raking the benefits.

I think you misunderstood the meaning of the passage.

Yeah I thought it was discussing free riding in a sort of positive way…so I put altruistic

I think obvious is definitely correct…

Free riding was not used in a positive way, it by definition is never a good thing

The authors said the free writers want to achieve the same goal and cooperate with the group and get things done. So its potential altruistic

No he didnt. He never said that. He said free riders are not a problem since they are obvious to spot and are shunned

@singeorgina okay thanks! so it was asking for the number of pages in a book, not the total pages?
