October 2008 Scores

go to your organizer. at the top you'll see, "your scores are in!" click that link.

-60

Should I retake?
'Cause one, my previous SAT score wasn't that good. And now, it's even worse.
But I still have to do my Subject tests...

It's funny that tons of people whom I've never seen post on these boards before flock to these kinds of threads to post their scores...

I did not do as well as the majority of CC, but I am very pleased and credit my increase to CC for a ton of help.

PSAT:

CR: 450
Math: 440
Writing: 470

SAT:

CR: 600
Math: 600
Writing: 650

490 point increase.

LOool 490 this is great (not your result, but the increase;]

good God... I completely bombed it.

2070, 150 points lower than my first time taking it.

this feels horrible.

what do i do? how bad does this look?

Alright... don't laugh at me. I'm just not as good at taking the SAT everyone one else is... but I still had some good results, so I'll post them haha.

Math 540: -40
Reading 630: +10
Writing 610: +100!
Essay 11 (I had a 6 last time, so I'm excited about that).

Here are my final results:
1710-1780
Superscored: 1710-1820

my score dropped so badly!!!!!
i really believe there must be error
Usually I get math 800 but this time I got 600!!!
does anyone have some kinda unlikely error like mine????
i'm doomed!! I thought I did well on the October one.

I was very pleasantly surprised. The first time I took it, I got a 2170, and I was hoping for a 2200. I was so excited to get 2290!
CR - 760
M - 730
W - 800 (80 MC, 9 Essay)

I thought my CR score would be much lower, though I did get 770 last time. Math is still the hardest for me.

Currently in grade 12

CR - 800
M - 800
W - 800 (80 MC, 12 Essay)

I'm not kidding

Pulled up math 50 points from last time (a year and a half ago) - others were already 800s at that point

The first time I took it was for benchmarking purposes and I didn't study besides looking at about a dozen sample questions and answers in each section. I did a few (three or four I think) practice tests in math this time over the two days prior to the test, looked at some sample questions and answers in the other two sections, and that's about it. My advice for preparation, if you're pretty close to a 2400 and trying to get there, is to just do practice tests until you stop missing questions. It worked for me, anyway.

Good luck to everyone!

Sometimes, I can't help but feel bad about myself after seeing posts on this board; my scores are always too low, despite that I studied my butt off and especially given that I am more intelligent than these show (I SHOULD be somewhere around 2150). More than that, some people are complaining about being in the 2200s. I mean, do you understand that sometimes people would be happy to fall in the 1700s, and you're whining about being <200 points from a perfect score? Seriously, guys, don't be tools.

CR 650 (660)
M 520 (550)
W 660 (730)
Essay 7 (11)
^^ I wanted to cry with that last one.

I am such a winner. -.-

Congrats Nocturne! :]

2230
Critical Reading 800
Math 720
Writing 710 (9 on essay??)

I'm disappointed... I did worse than I thought on Math and Writing. Probably going to try again for 2300 in December.

2200

730 Critical Reading
720 Math
750 Writing

Fairly disappointed. Math is my strongest subject, I was certain I scored an 800. I guess this is what I get for studying one week before the test. No time to re-take.

/wrists

CR - 690 (+60)
M - 690 (+40) .... thought i did better
W - 640 (+90)
MC - 62
Essay - 9

1380/2020 (+100/+190)

still shocked....did absolutely no prep over the summer, can't believe i actually did better lol. I am happy

omggg...my score of 1950 in june is like in the 91%... the other 9 percent must be from here...

I only went up 20 points from last time...

CR: 640
M: 640
W: 680

Thank god for super-scoring though. That gives me a 2040...which I can live with.

I was completely not expecting my score at all..
last time in may - 1980.. CR was a 560, W was 670 and M was 750
october scores according to today - 2170 -CR 730 (WHAAAAT??? so happy..), W 750, M 690 (EW haha math was terrible, especially since it was so easy.. whatever)

i still can't believe i improved ~200 points
i'm so happy with my super score though, 2230 =) i'm like wicked proud since my super score jumped 250 pts :)

Sorry, Carborn :)

^LOL. Totally Ownage. My score went up around 200 points this time, but i only got like around 2100s. I skipped like 3 questions on the back of this one of the section cuz i didnt see them... -.-. btw any advice on how to improve the writing section?

you can definitely improve writing section by doing some things -
first, i started reading a lot of random stuff - newspaper, Reader's Digest, random books like Freakonomics - it allows you to start catching errors really quickly when you read sentences and you can start to spot errors easily
2nd - PRACTICE & PAY ATTENTION TO EVERY CHOICE. not even kidding. i dramatically improved my CR and W sections by just doing hardcore like 2-4 sections per day for 3-4 weeks before the test date and some practice in august
