October 2008 Scores

Hmm. I'm not sure it's worth it to stay up until 4am for me. I did it for my June SAT results, but I do have school tomorrow, darn it.

I'm actually getting a bit nervous. This is my third time and probably my last, which is a bit sad. I'm pretty sure too I didn't get an 800 on CR, which is annoying.

haha i know i probably got some people. well whatever, ill wait till morning to find out. im not anxious to find out cuz i know i did terrible...

8 hours and 40 mins left (if I get my timing right. Time zones drive me crazy)
I am too anxious I can't studyyy. it's 10:20AM where I am now

^you are in asia? where?

What does being Asian have to do with anything? Don't colleges just take whichever is the highest ACT or SAT? Your 34 ACT is equivalent to a 2280 SAT. Your ACT is well into the 99th percentile.

You don't even have to send your SAT score to a college with that ACT score.

dude guys join the chat haha im bored

I'm in the chat room, no one is there. I too am using pidgin, sooo I don't know.

confused_vnese, Are you in China's time zone?

^I'm in China. it's 10:32 am now and it will be 5 p.m. when the score comes out. Darn, my day is so ruined by this.

Good luck all. I'm going to get some sleep.

I'm in Singapore. It's 10:45AM and i'm attempting to study UN peacekeeping missions in the Balkans 1992 (mostly to distract myself). haha
You know if it's 11:45PM now i won't be able to sleep, knowing that when i wake up in the morning THE score is out..

speak any mandarin or cantonese?

Cantonese no. Mandarin virtually non-existent. Japanese not bad but forgetting everyday ):
Clearly i'm not very good at Asian languages. Will try my luck at German and French next year haha

Really? I thought mandarin is heard everywhere in Singapore..
so you're a native speaker of english?

edit:you are a japanese descendent?

i am from Malaysia and i speak mandarin and cantonese!!!

^cool~I'm from mainland China so that makes me a mandarin speaker. But when I was 12 my family moved to HK where i picked up Cantonese. And prepping for the TOEFL&SAT stuff really improves my English. lol.

Well Singapore's official language is English. Four languages are used in the country (cos it's multiracial) English, Mandarin (and its litany of dialects), Malay and the Indian one (either Tamil or Hindi i can never tell them apart). But like for the younger generation our mandarin is not very good (at least my friends and I). After O Level chinese everything just sort of escaped our minds lol
Chinese is hard!

Anyway, let's keep my racial profile a secret :D

My accent oscillates between Singaporean and a pseudo-American one whenever i'm nervous. I don't know why, although personally i detest people who try to fake American accent and end up sounding like idiotic snobs.

Singlish is a national heritage! haha

like everyone here who took the Oct SAT, i am very nervous about tomorrow but my friend and i devised a plan in which we will go to school like normally, log in to our CB account before first period class and then switch computers and click on our scores for each other. if i score higher i will be relieved. and i'm going to ask her if i got my desired score range. if i did then i will look at my score. if i don't, i then will wait till i get home and check for my actual score.

foolproof plan! and not a wince of lost sleep! well actually, i still have an essay to finish and i haven't even started yet...

I heard that Singaporeans speak a distinct English and tend to add "la" or "a" at the end of a sentence as in Chinese languages.
