October 2009 SAT II - Physics

who else pwned physics??
i did!(after 3 freaking times), if i don’t get an 800 i’m gonna blow up ETS

“Now, where did T come from? Tension is a force related to the stretching of an object. The string shouldn’t even stretch because on one end you have a free falling object(m2) on the other end you have absolutely nothing to hold on to (because there is no friction for m1 and it will have no effect as it’ll provide no resistance!). Tension can’t arise by the action of only 1 force. So, basically string will also fall along with the block m1 and there won’t be any stretch in the string.”

ever heard of inertia? the block will want to remain at rest, but the other block will provide a force to move it.

according to you, the block on the table will move by itself.

if there is no tension, then it will never move.
the free body diagram would have gravity and that’s it.

anyone have a good idea of the max number that can be missed to get <700?

you have to have a raw score under 45 to get less than a 700.
