wait do the kids in california take the same test as us? cause if they do then that isnt fair

don’t think they do…

what topic do you guys think collegeboard stressed the most?

@sandman
i’ve heard that they do actually, which isn’t fair, you’re right. but collegeboard isn’t that stupid, they have probably taken precautionary efforts to ensure an equal opportunity for everyone.

@worldcup10
i feel like it was a really rounded test (like all of their tests, actually) you pretty much had to know everything to do decently.

do you know of any practice tests online besides for sparknotes?

@worldcup10
Collegeboard releases “The Official SAT Subject Test Study Guide”, a big blue book that has a real test for every single subject test. It has all the questions, the answers, a scoring guide, and even the percentages of people getting them right. It was a great resource! I highly recommend it, though I also recommend borrowing one, since it’s not really worth the price.

Anyone have an idea of what the curve might look like for E and M??

@hullomate

In general, the curve for Biology, both sections, is pretty harsh. E looked a little tougher than usual, while M looked just about as expected. I would say M scale is 3-4 wrong for 800, and E is 4-5 wrong.

yah i agree… it was generally easy (i took the M) but there were a few that were a bit tricky and hard to decide… i finally decided that i should omit 4…

they asked really weird ones, like that one about the turk and salmonea and the Ecoli/human one… that was a bit tricky…

what was the ans for the rh- , cyanobacteria, “which is a rat most similar to”, the grasshopper ladybug beetle spider one, and the stupid millerurey experiemtn and clam thingy on the E?

dude i hope E curve is like 800 = 0-7 this time or something

@Wanderyonder

Actually it really depends on the test.

The one I took in May had the curve of only 1 wrong getting 800, 2 wrongs got you 790. (it was molecular).

yeah but this one was heeeeeeeeella hard, at least i thought the E was extremely hard.

@sandman: Yes, the test-takers in California have the same test as those on the east coast, which is why you aren’t supposed to discuss any of the questions.

@ifailatsats

1) rh+ was 50%
2) i don’t quite remember this question anymore, elaborate?
3) monkey (this is why they do research on rats)
4) spider, all the others were insects (spider is an arachnid)
5) I didn’t take E, so I haven’t looked up the answers to those. Anyone else fill in?

thankss!

but crap i got most of them wrong then . .wowwwww
i put squirrel instead of monkey and i guesesd 25% -_-
um the cyanobacteria was like which is not a characteristic : binary fission, chloroplasts, photosynthetic, and some others i dont remember

oh well im pretty sure im going to cancel my score. i totally bombed this :(

does anyone know how i can get 700? how many wrong?

@ifailatsats

I still don’t remember the question, sorry. But I can tell you that cyanobacteria is autotrophic and uses photosynthesis, and is indeed a bacteria. So what you gave above is all correct.

If these were the only ones you got wrong, no need to cancel your score. Since you already paid the money, you might as well see what you got.

omg i think i might have mixed up the two sections on the answer key…this is confusing. On my sat 2, the first question on ecology was [Which one of the following choices contains all of them?] and the choices were [neuron, dendrite, axon, etc.]. Was this question for molecular or ecology? I mean i thought ecology was a pretty easy, but this could have been me mixing the two sections… Does anyone remember?

hey when can we start discussing questions?

edit : @Chena34 it was in ecology
