6 wrongs and 0 omit, 710-730 I guess

@28gaysharks: so was the initial y-intercept 0? I’m really confused 'cause I can’t remember whether I chose -1 or -2 for the answer. I just remember thinking to myself translating the graph 2 units to the right would result in y-intercept 2 units downwards. Was this the right approach?

Oh it was translate it 2 units to the RIGHT? I think I might have somehow understood left instead of right. Oh well.

Wow, the SAT does some FINE damage to our psychological health. I’ve noticed today and yesterday that test takers worry WAAAAY too much about little things. catonthestreet, you can apply to college regardless of your scores. There are MILLIONS of students out there with nothing close to 60/67 (or 710 - 730) on CR, so it’s completely irrational to say that 710-730 isn’t enough to even APPLY to colleges. 710-730 is a great range and you should be proud of yourself even if it wasn’t what you expected. I saw a thread in which the OP stressed about leaving the test center name blank and another in which the OP worried about a blunt pencil affecting the quality of his/her bubbling.

But I digress. I wanna know my score NOW!! FFS, I can’t wait till the 28th or even the 23rd (to make the phone call) for that matter! Did everyone have a hard time with the Japanese girl/politics questions? Or is it just a few of us, including me?

i clearly remember the question; that was move the graph 2 to the right
the answer was -2

@R3d3mpti0n; thank you for your prudent words… though you may say that not to Goldnano. I am kinda… crying. If phone call is available at 23rd, I would do that. And, hope… not to lose any more… Definitely, SAT is killing all of us, particularly the juniors.

@Goldnano; thanks for your recognition.

Sry, I looked at the wrong name hahah. I’m definitely calling on the 23rd!

did you guys get amount (for measure) and rank (for degree) in CR and there was also a short passage about a girl named Em’ly?? i cant remember the answers.

Yes^^
But I think the Em’ly bit was experimental.

Oh and…-2 in there^^^

I got the CR as an experimental Sect.
Also I wanted to know how muuch will I get if I left 2 quest in the maths omitted and I am sure that all the oth quest are right ?
If I wanted to get a 530 on CR , how much should I have in my RAW score ? cuz I feel that I didn’t do well on the CR !! :S

GUYS. WAS OUR CR THE SAME AS THAT OF MARCH 2008 CR?? O M G .

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/468060-official-march-2008-sat-cr-discussion.html

How did you guys determine that section 6 Writing was experimental and 2 was not?? Is there any possible way to determine this?

itsmylife99, yes we did. This was established a few pages back.

It can be determined by consulting with people who had a different experimental section, CR for example. If their experimental section was CR and our was Writing, the Writing section they had was the non-experimental :)

Some people didn’t have a second writing section so the section in common is the real one and the other one (section8) is experimental.

damn
Everybody is swinging btw gross understatement and crass exaggeration

Am I the only one who choose outdated claim?!

At the very first part of the passage 1, the author says that the skepticism over the political information of the nation is as old as the mass goverment… So I just thought that the passage 1 would refer to the claim as outdated !

Oh and I have several questions about writing

-in section 6, the phrase ‘founder and first president’ came out as one of the answer choice I just chose since I thought that it should have been “the” first, not just first

-And the collaborating one? I thought it should be changed collaboration

-In section 10, the last salt one It went like … salt that has an ability for expanding the empire. Some of my friends said that ability for is wrong, but I remember that any other answers were quite awkward… so I just picked A!

^yes i thought it would be collaboration too…

and for the salt one i think i put B.

@bjean108 : I chose outdated claim too. :-?

to harrydo93 & bjean108
the right answer can only be understatement: the author of the first stated that the voters were almost next to idiots, while the author of the second just said that they were not experts, so the first assertion is obviously a stronger one than the second one. Therefore the first author would think that the saying in the second passage is understatement.

well, I read part of the key. So I know gross understatement was right. Just that he asked whether anyone chose the same answer wit him so I replied. :D
