October 2010 US History

Oh well. We went over silent spring a lot in APUSH…maybe it was so easy for me, I just breezed over it…hope so…

Anybody know the full wording of the Marcus Garvey question?

probably: what was marcus garvey most likely to support?

something like “what was Garvey about”? I really forget, sorry.

right, something like that!

I am for this one!

What was the answer to the question that asked, “All of these showed/illustrated the growing radicalism of black rights organizations EXCEPT?”

Can you remember any answer choices?

Was it sit-ins or something?

All I remember was one choice was Black Panther Party. I’m pretty sure it was sit-ins though. If you could remember the other choices, that’d be helpful.

^ i dont think it was sit-ins because that was black people doing sit-ins (going in and eating at the same time) in restaurants etc together in an attempt to reduce segregation

One of the choices were “The assassination of Malcolm X”

marcus garvey-- i forgot the answer choices–but it was somewhere along the lines of black self-help…you know he advocated for the whole “back to africa” movement.
he had nothing to do with religious orthodoxy.

Lunch counter sit-ins. While a civil rights action, it was not affiliated with radicalism. Other answers were the Black Panthers (formed by radicals), the Assassination of Malcolm X (a result of his radicalism and the growing radical movement), and others I forget.

The answer for that was something to do w/ Langston Hughes or The Harlem Renaissance, I can’t remember which.

BillyMc, thanks for confirming my answer.

You’re thinking of another one. There was a bunch of stuff having to do with civil rights, then there was the Harlem Renaissance, which I choose.

Does anyone remember a question with taylorism as an answer? I don’t remember the question or the answer, just the word taylorism.

Edit: Just remembered.

It was the quote for getting workers to work efficiently. I think taylorism was in fact the answer.

<a href=“Taylorism | Efficiency, Time-Motion Study & Productivity | Britannica”>http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/1387100/Taylorism

@kobudnik, yep, that was it. i put that also.

umm there wasn’t a question about silent spring/ rachel carson. must’ve been from someone’s practice test they took the night before haha

I agree, I also put Taylorism.

I had a Silent Spring question in my practice test the afternoon before, yet I distinctly remember another one (worded only slightly differently) on the actual test.

Ah, now I remember, the choices for the radical question were, Harlem Renaissance, Assassination, Black Panthers, Changing stance of some organization, and some other thing. I don’t remember lunch-counter sit-ins as a choice.

Well, there was one civil rights question with an answer of lunch counter sit-ins, and one as the Harlem Renaissance, from what I remember.
