October 2011 SAT Mathematics

wait so how did you guys do the prblem where the answer was 1024?.. i just guessed 1/34

@roor123
You’re supposed to work backwards

1024

32

32 (1024/32)

1 (32/32)

32 (32/1)

1/32 (1/32)

1024 [32/(1/32)] <-------

Does anyone remember the letter choice for the cylinder one? I put C…

It was given that each term is the product of the 2 terms preceding it. for example, if the sequence is a,b,c, then c=ab.

so we know the seventh and sixth terms. working backwards. a7=a6a5= 1024=32a5 ->a5=32. 32=32a4 -> a4=1 32=1a3 -> a3= 32. 1=32a2 -> a2=1/32. 32=(1/32)a1 -> a1=1024.

Do you guys remember what the first grid-in question was?

^ It said that you have 1000 pounds of candy and 1 box of candy can fit .5 pounds and each box costs or sells for $2 so what would the total cost or profit be.

(1000/.5)2=4000

Um, guys… the one with divisible by 12 and 10 isn’t 3600…

It’s 900.

Ufiscool, I’m pretty sure the question wanted divisble by 24 and 10, in which case 900 woudn’t work.

@drummer:
The answer was y=3, since they said x=2.

I almost messed up on that one, since my original answer was y=-1/2x or something like that.

oh okay, nevermind! i was thinking about it today, and thought it was 12 and 10, and was like “hm, wouldnt 900 work” lol, sorry about that.

^thats what I put. I think its right lol

was this math harder or easier? what will the curve be?

I thought the math was alright. There were quite a few, what I thought to be “wierder” questions.

What were the other answer choices for the one where the answer was 1024?

^ 32, 34, 1, 1/32.

Not sure about the 1, but the others I faintly remember.

No, 900 isn’t divisible by 24, thats what the question asked.

The answer choices were 1/1024 1024 32 1/32 1

was answer choice E 1/1024 or 1024 for that question ^?

I think E or C was 1024 (the correct answer)

haha i know 1024 was the correct answer, i dont know if i chose that though. i know for a fact i put E
