hey, for the gains and losses question, what were the other choices? i remember that the question was about the movement, but i can’t remember what i put down, or if i put down gains/losses.

The biographer represented a spy right!!!

@Kyrieah

Where did you get that quote… Do we have the full article available? Sorry if this is redundant.

@All

I know the “treatment” handling vs. management has been going on since the beginning of this thread, and between the two, I would choose handling, but I actually think neither is the answer simply because they’re so closely related. Is CB dumb enough to include two words that are nearly synonyms and make one the answer? When I ask myself that, I really have to conclude the answer as execution…

Oh and an insignificant side note - I side with caustic over vehement. Couldn’t vehement be defined as a part of caustic? The passages were definitely “biting and sarcastic”, which I BELIEVE (strong emphasis on believe) is how CB defined the term in one of their practice test answers. I’ve taken about 8 practice tests and vehement usually ends up being too generic to describe a passage. If you’re vehement, you probably have a specific side toward an issue, right? And the authors of both passages were definitely critical/biting/sarcastic toward our current methods of solving nuclear issues.

Then again, I’m definitely not certain with either of the two.

@LoseYourself: Those were my exact thoughts when I took the test. I hope we’re right =/

no, the biographer = ARCHAEOLOGIST. this is 100% correct.

But Ideas also presupposed the instinctual, 'cause they existed before everything else…

i said that the Fleece thought that ideas preexisted creativity. He didnt necessarily imply that it was separate from human consciousness

***, collegeboard
can we write to get the caustic/vehement one voided?
and also the execution/handling one?

they both were so EFFING CLOSE TO EACH OTHER.

So does anybody have an idea of what the breakdown will be for this test? Like what will the curve be?

still confused about hermandsver and ideas…
was it A) independent of human consciousness or B) presupposed the instinctual?

Fleece did say that it was separate from human consciousness, because he said it is there whether people like it or not.

@amc723: I’m not sure if posting links are allowed, but if you google “UNC Press Ella Baker and the Black Freedom Movement”, there will be a link leading to that exerpt/passage.

but that also implies that ideas are not created, they exist

The actual wording of the answer was that ideas are grasped instinctively I believe?

But doesn’t that lead you to answer choice B as well?

seriously, does anyone remember the other choices for the gains/loss nature question?

also, what were the choices other than to explain a phenomenon for the blogging short passage?

i understand that those were the correct answers, i just can’t remember if i picked them.

How often does the CB void questions? / Respond to massive amounts of test-taker complaints?

Can someone explain why the compelling…formulaic is correct instead of stimulating…controversial, which I think I put? Also what was the question that had fallacious?

The answers to the supposedly controversial ones are caustic and handle.

I chose handling primarily because that fit best with the writing profession. A biographer would have to handle/weigh carefully her words to make sure they portray the individual correctly. All the other ones could be thought to mean that the writer was actually becoming involved with ella’s philosophical political ideas like executing them, etc… managing is iffy but not as strong as handling

keius2, the original sentence mentioned stock illustrations or something, stock indicates it’s common, stored, formulaic
