Are there different versions to this test? I’m asking because for the .9539 question there were no negative answer choices.

it was somthing like “let pi/2<A<pi, and sin(x)=.32?, then find cos(x)” so like
-sqrt(1-.32^2)=-.9474, (Make sure its negative because its in the 2nd quadrant), maybe your thinking of a different problem

@jibler YEAH! I was! haha

I feel like I made a BUNCH of stupid mistakes though… ugh

swimmerman, Barron’s is notorious for being much more difficult than actual tests.

It was definitely really easy, but I’ll be upset if I get less than an 800 now cuz it was that easy… was only aiming for above a 750.

Did any of you guys retake this?

Yeah, I agree with you jibler. I REALLY want an 800 now, haha. Are you a senior?

How would schools like Brown, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Carleton, etc. react to a Math II score of 770? Should I consider retaking in December? Won’t count for Brown ED but it might help for RD at the other schools if Brown doesn’t take me in.

But I’m not keen to dedicate a whole lot of time to preparing for it in November. How does the retaking thing work? Will my knowledge remain preserved till December and can I simply revise everything a bit more thoroughly and expect an 800 or will I have to redo everything.

My main areas of interest are Economics, Finance, Management, Philosophy, English, Statistics and Pol. Science BTW.

If so, what was the curve for that test?

770 should be fine.

Yeah, swimmerman, I’m a senior… took precalc 2 years ago though.

jibler: Ahhh, well good luck! Haha, I’m a junior (this year is soo awful btw)! I took precalc last year and I still forgot everything :P

Thanks! This test was too easy for me not to get an 800, haha. But I wish you luck as well! You’ll be fine - most people I know have no idea subject tests exist.

No problem and thanks!! Yeah, haha, I had to explain what they were to half of the people who asked me about it. Where are you planning on applying?

My stats aren’t crazy like most posters here but I’m applying to some solid east coast schools for computer science - university of maryland, northeastern, lehigh, some others. Duke is my reach.

That’s good!! You should try applying to schools like MIT and Georgia Tech!

Haha MIT is out of reach for me. My sister went to GT, and i know somebody who goes there. Didn’t really like the vibe I got though.

Yeah…I heard GT is a pretty competitive and the classes are pretty hard, haha. Atlanta is really nice though

PM me if you want

So Jib are you looking at some of the more popular cs schools like uiuc and cmu? I’d reckon you have a pretty good shot at uiuc and an even stronger one at UW Seattle.

Alright, Jibler! Haha
