***November 2013 - Mathematics Level 1***

I've decided to create the official Math Level 1 thread for November.

As the baboon said to Simba in the Lion King: it is time.

any idea what tests to focus on in the real sat?

Im not taking Math 1 but i’ll be taking Math 2. Just wanna ask are we allowed to store formula into our calculator and recall it when we use it? Eg. Rectangle area=lw <----store it somewhere like this.

Yes, as long as you are using an approved calculator.

Was the tube question 15?

@decimation I got 15 millimeters

I got 15… Was surface area 161?

What was the answer to the square overlap question? I couldn’t understand how to solve it haha.

Yes, it was 15mm. The diameter of the circular hole was around 15.8, therefore a tube with a diameter of 15mm was the only one that could fit in the hole.

About the square overlap i am not sure, but i think that 1-x is the correct answer.

I just want to say that although i am an international student i had the same sat subject tests as you did.

I think the overlap one was x/2. If you shift each page x/2 in opposite directions, then you get x distance between them. Idk though.

I put 1-x for overlap.
15mm for circular hole - you had to round down from 15.8

all real numbers except 5 for range of last question

I also put 1-x for overlap

How did you guys get 1-x?

They mentioned that the centers of the squares were x apart. If you imagine the squares starting on top of each other and moving x apart, then x would be equivalent to the part of the side that is NOT apart of the overlap. So the overlap would be the length of a side minus x or 1 - x

I put E for the one about relatively prime to 30. Forgot the actual number.

me too. They were all 4 digit numbers. I think that choice E began with a 2.

Might have been 2147. It just couldn’t be divisible by 2,3, or 5.

that’s right. Does anyone remembers any tricky problem?

SATnotACT you took math 1 and math 2.

Anyone get 27 for the log question?
