But how does ''on the other hand'' give a sense of uncertainty? that was what the question was asking for.

I chose apparently.

But how does ''on the other hand'' give a sense of uncertainty? that was what the question was asking for.

I chose apparently.

fizban, it's asking which word would make it seem like the historians didn't know a lot about her life

^^Yea, "on the other hand" presents a new fact...it gives a contrasting idea almost.

"Apparently" is a word used for uncertainty or not fully supported with much proof.

That's how I rationalized the choices.

I didn't have this form of the test... so I'll give my unbiased opinion that, simply from what I've read here, sounds like it was "apparently".

Does any1 remember the first question in the inventor passage.

It started off with a quote and the sentence after it started off with "However......."

Which one is least acceptable: Still,Instead, nevertheless,On the other hand

i chose Instead. It didnt sound right.

i put instead.. it sounded really wrong

i put instead

First of all, "apparently" was DEFINITELY the right answer for that question.
I also put instead.
For the who/whom question I said whom...who but I have no idea if that is correct (it was either that or who...who).
I didn't switch either of the paragraph placements.
And I spent by far the longest on the "from this point" question and eventually said point, but I'm convinced now that it's ahead.

rjacob - I think I chose on the other hand... it sounded wrong to me (at least I think that's what I put)

did you guys have nevertheless for an answer? i dont remember the question but i remember 3 of the other answers were transitions into a contrasting tone, while nevertheless made it seem like the person agreed with what the fact

JML641 - yeah for the "three sisters" one I put whom...who as well

I have an unrelated question real quick...

Did everyone's test have "Student Review Questions" at the end? Or just mine?

for the three sisters, who who was correct..
i think i might have missed 1 or 2. way to simple.

i doubt any1 remembers this but, did any1 get A F(who/whom question) C F A for 5 choices near the who/whom question. The who/whom was the second no change.

I got who...who

don't remember rjacob, sorry

I could have sworn it was whom/who.

^^ you doubted right. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Does anyone remember some like corn, wheat..whatever, collectively known has the "Three Sisters" Have/Has/Was been the source of food or something.

were, it was plural before that
did any of you notice that the three sisters were also talked about in The Real ACT Guide?
i smiled when I saw that
