October 6 SAT CR passages

was the question with halcyon on an experimental section (i dont think so…) and everyone keeps saying that sardonic was the answer for the fortune tellers one… i thought skeptical was one of the answers. and finally, for the fortune tellers one, was it implied that they were charlatans? or oracles? i said charlatans…

Charlatans. Sardonic because he wasnt skeptical, he was more mocking them. Halcyon wasnt experimental

I dunno, I think it may have been charlatans because the question specifically implied. There was no implication of oracles, but rather more of a direct characterization.

I think someone mayhave mentioned it, but in the blue SAT book, there are typically 2-3 hards thrown in the two small paragraphs questions, so that may have happened with this one.

Have we reached a consensus on facetious/flowery yet?

Halcyon was real, btw, because I had an exp writing, and I did have the halcyon question.

i think it’s definitely facetious/assertion. i noted some biasness in his “facts”.

alright thanks kevin is cool… so i think i got 2 reading questions wrong so far… :(… unless i chose sardonic, which i dont think i did.. (was skeptical even one of the answer choices?) but i say facetious/assertion for the exact same reason. And because there were like 80 exclamation marks. Futhermore, flowery isnt even that good of a description… flowery machines? Yeah okay…

Kevin, you and I seem to agree on everything then. For the love of God, I hope we’re right. If we are then i think I only got 1 wrong, 1 omit. One can pray…

thats what i thought. i was like he mentions the word pink… that’s it. this has to be a trap.

if facetious and assertion, and charlatan is wrong, then im making a compile of reasons why they are right, and aruging it wiht the collegeboard lol

how come i dont remember anything about halcyon? not even a small piece of it..

maybe you didnt pick it lol

what was it? was it one of the passages in CR?

fill in teh blank vocab

sentence completion.

can someone tell me why the heck the Aunt Sylvie question was “outdoors”? I picked mysterious and adventurous… but this seems to be going against everything everyone else is saying so…

yeah… I wish I could get my scores today
because many of the answers we’ve discussed have merit in several choices, in the different ways we all examine them.

oh I’m just praying for that lenient curve ;)

nothing ever proves mysterious and adventurous. The mermaid thingy magiggy ( i forget exact wording) was showing how she wanted like 2 worlds to be on. A mermaid on a deck… outdoors and indoors combined

“for that question with obsessive and extreme behavior of adults…
anyone remember ANY of the answer choices? I feel like I might have skipped that option and picked something else…”

just bumping this question ^^

WAIT!
for the sentence completion…was one of the answers capitulate?
i dont remeber the questio for that though…
can someone PLEAZ fill me in?

Can somebody compile the history answers? I was fried by then (section 9), and don’t recall many of them. Specifically, can anyone write the choices for the tribunal one? I don’t remember what I put, but I don’t know if I put objective. Thank you!

i second moneypin…the question about tribune totally slipped out of my mind~~~

capitulate? to surrender? not me, maybe a experimental
