October ACT for Early Action?

According to the UVa website:

[quote]
The last recommended test dates for Early Action applicants are the October dates. The last recommended test dates for Regular Decision applicants are the December dates./quote

However, according the ACT site, scores could be released anytime from November 11, 2014 – December 29, 2014 (http://www.actstudent.org/scores/viewing-scores.html)

I know they are usually released toward the beginning, but what happens if they aren't? If my scores aren't released until December 29th, will they still be counted for Early Action? Can they even be counted?

And, if they do come out in the beginning (November 11), can I just send them as soon as I get them? Would I submit my past scores first, and then submit these scores on November 11th? Or can I wait until November 11th to submit all of them?

This question really applies to many schools, but I have had the most success with the UVa forum, so I am asking it here. Thanks in advance!

-bump-

You will make yourself sick with worry if you explore all the “what if” scenarios.

Remember that reviewing about 15,000 applications takes a few months. Most of the time, October test scores are sitting in the file the very first time we open it (if you send them right away and don’t wait to have them sent). If they are a tad late, maybe we’ll see them the next time we open the file. Or the time after that.

Do not wait until you see your scores to send them. You should be indicating that UVa gets your scores upon registration or on test day. Remember that we recombine your sections to get the best possible set, so if your new scores aren’t better, our system won’t even show them to us. :)
