October ACT

I'll be taking the ACT (no writing) again on October 23rd. They say the test results will be mailed back between 3 to 8 weeks after (Nov. 13 to Dec. 18). Is this early enough for them to be considered in an ED application?

Unfortunately, October ACT results are generally not released in time to be considered during Early Decision. We encourage you to still note on your Common App that you are taking the Oct. ACT and if you do receive your results around November 13, make sure they get to us (you can even email your regional dean with your updated score). However, if your score is released after Thanksgiving it will likely not be considered as mail letters the first week of December.

I plan on sending a score report, but are you saying that I should send a separate email saying my results? (And if so, would that be a scan of the paper? Or a fax? Or even just a screenshot off of ACTstudent.org?)

Also, I just read the admission deans’ profiles on W&M’s website, and I couldn’t find anyone that specifically said they cover Kentucky. Who should I contact?

By the way, that’s a great way to learn more about you folks. Its good to know there are people - with personalities - in there. :D

If you receive your ACT score before Thanksgiving, you can email your regional dean, Kia Hardy (who covers the Deep South). You can either scan your report and email it to her or fax it to her. Either works.

Glad you enjoyed the Meet the Committee Page.

Great, thanks for your help so far, but on the Meet the Committee page, I was only able to find Kia Butts. Is that the person I’m looking for?

Kia Butts got married this summer so her last name changed but Kia Butts and Kia Hardy are the same person.

Excellent, thanks.

And congratulations to her.
