October SAT Math

thanks rojo. i feel much better now. :)

what should i expect if i missed 3 mc question

twk, it was something where the parabola passed through 5 on the x-axis? I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was -3 cause I had no idea what I was doing so I just graphed them and thankfully it was the 2nd one and it gave me the answer.

for the question radius 2 and radius 4 the answer is 8. 4^3 / 2^3 = 8.

oh the question good =] i answered that right

and for the circle question where we had to find the perimeter i know the answer was 20 but was there a choice for 24? cuz i think i answered that question with b and i dont remember what b was i dont know why i put 24 though cuz i put 20 on the paper

well if you did put B, it couldn't have been 24. cause if you put 24, it would have had to have been E cause I'm almost certain 20 was D and they always go in order from least to greatest, A to E.

im pretty sure that c d and maybe e? were the one with the radicals i do not remember the order can someone please refresh my memory because this is the only answer keeping me from an 800

two of the choices were radicals that were like 19.7 and 20.3 so im not sure so it didnt go from least to greatest

this is the question with the trapezoid and the three circles

anyone remember the question about an elevator. :D my answer are Three and 80.

in that case, you might be right. i've been thinking of so many questions, my mind is just blurred. now i'm thinking 20 might have been B. cause i'm pretty sure that you're right that the radical-answers were C, D and E.

also, even though you're pretty sure you might have gotten an 800, try not to expect it. trust me, it's much more fun to expect a 770 and get a 770 then to expect an 800 and get a 770. Plus then you expect a 770 and get an 800 then you're like wow this is SUPER awesome hahah.

i'll be rooting for your 800 though (even though it's already settled whether you got one or not), but i'm still rooting for ya bud! haha

Grid-in question about Don's first round point. What's your answers. Mine was 46. :D

The elevator was a stop every time it flatlined from 0 to 120. I think it was 3 or 4. The trapezoid was 24 imo, although some say it was 20. If the trapezoid is made into three triangles, some argue it forms an equilateral. I need a diagram...anyone with a photographic memory of what precisely was given ? ?

45, 46 or 47. Any of the three!

and mtfb, i can't remember the diagram for the circle-trapezoid problem, but the elevator stops was definitely 3. One of them was an extended stop though which somewhat threw me off.

yea actually i feel as if i got 780 i really need a 800 though =]

thanks for rooting for me like i hope i dont make a stupid mistake somewhere that would be horrible but thanks =]

the elevator was 3 stops and mine was 46 as well =]

oh about the elevator, do we count the initial point as a stop or no...

i don't believe so. if the graph started with a flat line, i think it might be a stop, but the graph started off with an incline so i doubt that counts as a stop. if it did, 95% of SAT takers got that question wrong! haha

well if it starts as a stop then i am part of the 95 percent =]

How come people say the absolute value question answer is |x-32| < 2

can some1 explain that?

because it says that it can only be between like 30 and 34 so you pick a number higher than 34 or lower than 30 and put it in that.

if you pick 35 the result would be 3<2 and that is invalid

on the other hand if you pick 33 the result would be 1<2 and that would be valid

thats how i chose my answer =] hope i helped

but with your logic then, 30 and 34 would not work since 2 < 2 is not true.

What was the the total distance answer for the elevator?

didnt it say between 30 and 34 though? that means 2<2 is invalid because 30 and 34 cannot be answers

total distance is 80
