October SAT Math

spidey, what was the question where the answer was k=-3?

spidey what was the second math grid in... the one with the "hidden" 5 12 13 triangle area ?

was the 18sqr3-6pi answer C?

k = -3 isn't striking me right now :( ... But i'm sure I've done all correctly..
Does anyone remember the 2 questions mentioned above?

No i think C was 9sqr3-6pi (i chose C) :[

.5x12x5?

wasn't it .5x24x10-->120

what did u guys get for #17 in grid-in section? The one about the difference between the largest # in set and smallest # is 550. If the numbers in the set were multiplied by some thing, what is the difference between the new largest and smallest number.

I got 2750. can someone clarify?

PS: if someone already asked this previously, excuse me, i didnt read all the pages

lets say the smallest # is 5, the largest will be 555 (550 more than the lowest)
multiply each side by 4, then add 5
you'll end up with

25 and 2225
the difference between them is 2200 (2225-25)

the original difference will get multiplied by 4, that's it
adding and subtracting doesn't make difference in delta (difference between values)

one question was 6<sqrt(n)<10 , find difference between maximum and min. value of n

36<n<100
so 99-37 = 62

Oh wow, I never saw it like that.
i like doing it the long way because I'm sure I won't forget a "shortcut"
I finished all the math sections with 10 minutes to spare anyways.

me too lol

did anyone get 120 for one of the gridins?

here's a list of answers so far
9. 11 (teams with 2 or more ppl)
10. 120 (area of rectangle?)
11. 128
12. 3.2 (a+b)
13. 45 (one of the possible scores he could've gotten)
14. 1/25 (1/a^n)
15. 8
16. 3 (how many areas does f(x)=b)
17. 2200 (number set)
18. 34 (Weird symbol one)

In additon we have:

(17/2),

abs value of x-32<2,

.5<x<.25

15

b=k (Someone posted this. I remembered there is one ak/b=1)

18sqrt3-6pi (this is definitely true)
( not in any particular order)

the dotted thingy was 10 pi

the roman numeral question was none

k=-3 (D some people said)

x^3+X (-f(x)=f(-x))

the y>x graph, it was D, the exponential graph in quad 2

10 pi ( 5 dotted semi circles)

elevator , 3 stops, 80 ft

3 circles , forming trapezoid is 20

trapezoid, asking for rectangular perimeter is 22.

the sequence was 2^n (n=1, 2^1=2)(n=2;2^2=4)(n=3;2^3=8)

area of a triangle (sides 24,26,10?)

i think i did.. and one was 128 too I think...
Can't remember the questions now cos i didnt spend too much time on them lol

oh ya .5 * 24*10

aww crap, i multiplied by 5 and added 4 instead of the other way. stupid time crunch.

can someone remind me what the problem was that had the answer 3.2.

10a + 10 b = 32
lmao
just divide by 10 throughout
