methanol definitely

Yes! That was what I put. +1 :)

Anybody...? Please? About 15 skipped, 10 wrong?

the curve varies from year to year but 700ish sounds right

bobsacamano-I really, really hope you're right. I really need a 700 and I really feel like I bombed that...

ps-nice name. Seinfeld fan I assume? I love Seinfeld.

does anyone think the curve will be more generous?

i had the same question as you c1ndy. I put methanol because it was organic, but i was unsure b/c i thought the hydroxide on it would make it polar, therefore dissociating in water and conducting electricity.
lilyrobin, for what it's worth i would agree that your probably around a 700 (i think that according to PR you're one point under :( but according to Kaplan you'd have it, maybe even a 710) but as was also said above, the curve always varies

thanks for the info lord rafiki. Hopefully it'll be a 700. I think I'll sign up for the November test just in case.

I was so looking forward to being done with SATs forever : (

@ lord rafiki: The hydroxide renders methanol highly soluble in water. But the solution has low electrical conductivity. :)

Alcohol is an extremely weak acid, the H+ proton dissociates to a very tiny extent. Hence there are precious few ions to go around acting as charge carriers. -> Hence low electrical conductivity.

what was the question with the HCL and Acetic acid and the number of H determining whether it was strong.....i don't remember it.....and wth was number 55, the long balancing one.....A or B, i put A. And what was the one where it I II or III, the last one of this kind lol i was runnin out of time so i blanked out and just went with the gut. Didn't have time to even clearly read the question.

thanks c1ndy and kasiva
mtgrocks, i dont really remember any of those questions well enough, although i think the acetic acid / hcl one was discussed earlier in this thread...
