October SAT

Last time I got 2020 (620CR 760M 640W)

I gotta get an 800 in math, which I'm sure I can do if I'm thinking clearly. And hopefully I can force high 700s in writing if I learn all the grammar rules. I was actually happy with my last CR score because I never could read that well. But luckily I always peak in my reading abilities in late summer because of all the Summer Reading I need to do before school starts. I'm hoping I can end up with at least a 650. For total score I wanna 2200.

This would be the second time... am hoping for 2300+.

1960 the first time and I'm hoping for a 2300+ as well. I didn't review at all the first time.

I'll be taking it for the third (and hopefully final) time in October. I want to get my 1940 (570 M, 690 CR, 680 W) up to around 2100. My math fell 60 points from the first time I took it, but my score rose overall from a 1880.

I'm taking the SAT for the second time this October. I got a 1840 last time, and I'm expecting at least a 1900.

retaking for the 3rd time...2060 to a 2150(no studying first two times...yes i know. that was a very bad idea haha) to hopefully a 2300+(studying all summer!)

Retaking for the 2nd time. my last time. last chance. one chance. well..no, but atleast for ED. anyways, shooting for 2600, might be a little off...

Is October really the easiest? Which other test dates are easy, maybe December/January is easy (hoping)?

haha EVERY time i take a sat/satii, its always "heard" to be the easiest. mmmmm....whose spreadin this rumor....

This will be my first time taking it. My SAT prep class starts July 22nd and it ends August 24th. So I should be well prepared.

last time i got a 2220 but i'm retaking and hoping for 2300. my CR was only 700 but on the psat it was 800, so that being higher is all i really care about (love how USC looks at the highest for each section, not just in one sitting)

I have a question:

is going from 1830 t o1950 in one testing a realistic goal??

BTW: I took the October 2005 test and it was the easiest out of the 6 SAT I've taken so far.

trying to get my 2280 (800M, 800W, 680CR) up to 2350+.

WOW, guardiandevil423, it's so unbelievable. Can you share your strategies with us? I'm very curious about how you could do that. It's so so so WONDERFUL!!!!

lol thanks!

For the math, i recommend that you do a quick review of math in a wekk or two with the barrons. Then, go to the blue book and practice answering very carefully. I have heard of many misreadings. And, go in to the section thinking, "imma wreck this section." A little confidence, in conjunction with careful reading, will get you an 800, if not high 700.

For the writing, I recommend getting a Kaplan grammar review book. Also, be on the lookout for incorrect word choice. If they simply underline a word like allusion(error ID), it is because they want you to be able to distinguish allusion from illusion. Apart from that, develop a forumla for writing the essay. Frequently, length can get you the points. SAme as for math (and CR which i am yet to perfect), be extremely deliberate.

I did horrible on the reading and writing but pulled off a 790 M. Any suggestions for the next test?

october will be my last time cuz i need to take sat II in november. I'm trying to increase my horrible score of 1700 to at least 1900 or more. I'm having a real trouble with timing. I mean at the beginning I do fine with 35 minutes but then when they shorten it to 25 then I don't have enough time and have to skip the last few questions for that section. Any suggestion?

Will be retaking a 2060 (630V, 730M, 700W). I'm hoping to raise writing to high 700's, as I did really well on the multiple choice last time but totally messed up my essay. Also would like to boost the Verbal to high 600's at least if not low 700's, and Math up a little too...we'll see if it actually happens!

Overall goal: 700V, 750M, 800W...a 2250. Would be a huge jump, but last time I jumped up 140 points after only studying Verbal a little, so who knows!

i really like balls

^^ what kind of balls?
