Odd question, but curious on how Dual degrees work.

Im thinking about majoring in Political Science (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences) and Art History (College of Fine Arts). If i accomplished this, when i graduate would i get two separate diplomas, one from each college, or just one diploma like a double major? Also, would i graduate twice, with each college?

When DS got his dual degree, it was two separate diplomas, with the department graduation ceremony in both schools.

Read the section on CLAS “Double Major, Dual Degree and Second Major”. It can get a bit complicated, based on which degrees you plan to pursue.

<a href=“Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of < University of Florida”>https://catalog.ufl.edu/ugrad/current/liberalarts/school_pages/policies.aspx

It looks like you want either a duel degree or a second major.

@Gator88NE‌ So… would i get two diplomas or…?

Since Art History is in the College of Fine Arts (and not CLAS), you could pursue a Dual Degree. The other option is to complete your Fine Arts degree (and all Fine Arts requirements) and then take Political Science as a second major (then not needing to complete the CLAS degree requirements in addition to the major requirements).

At least that’s how I read it, you should talk to an advisor during preview to get the real scoop! :)
