For a junior schedule what looks better????

4 AP's, 2 Honors........Grades: 3 A's and 3 B's

OR

2 AP's, 1 Honors, and 3 Regular Classes........Grades: 6 A's

And this is for UC Schools

probably the second choice for UCs because the UC gpa only counts a certain number of semesters of APs/Honors as weighted classes (6, i believe).

For UCs, second choice definately.

second choice at ANY school, either private or UC

True for UCs, NOT TRUE at Ivies or any other top-tier school. Effort is more important than GPA.

The second choice would look better at any school, but especially UCs.

4 AP, 2 Honors: 6 A's

3AP's, 2 Honors, 1 FUN class that you love ... like
music/dance/forensics/speech/leadership.
Try to get all A's.

Disagree.

First choice looks better to UC Berkeley at least. Effort, as another poster said, is more important than merely getting A's.

If you have both an honors and an AP level above your regular class, you will raise eyebrows and not impress the adcoms, A or not.

I can't speak for other UCs because I haven't had contact with admissions officers from the others.

They both have their pros and cons but if you can handle it, I would always suggest going for the more demanding schedule and just working insanely hard in those classes.

Definitely the latter. Yeah, they spout stuff about challenging yourself, but in the end, they want A's. Of course, what they really want is challenging yourself AND A's, but if you can only have one, take the A's.

all AP's and Honors, it doesn't matter if u get all A's, what matters is that you've taken the most rigorous courses offered at your school, if u and another person from you're school are applying to the same school but u have an easier schedule than he does, they'll probably take him (all other things equal), i took the most demanding classes at my school (honors and ap's), and even though i didn't get all A's, I was still accepted to great schools, plus, as much as everyone on CC tries to predict, the college admission process fluctuates from year to year, from person to person
