I was just wondering if you could ever have "too much" recommendations? I'll be applying to colleges this fall and I will have 2 teacher (math and english) and 2 other recommendations (Basketball Coach, and Librarian whom i've worked with on other projects. So I know 4 recommendations is kind of pushing it but if I had 1 maybe 2 more do you think that would be too much for colleges? I'm applying ED to Duke, and I need as much "help" getting in as I could possibly get!

You actually would need a recommendation from your counselor, this is required by all colleges. Also if you did a little research on Duke’s website you would have found their policy on recommendations. I quote, “Additionally, applicants may submit one Personal Recommendation. This recommendation is optional, and can come from a coach, a director, a teacher from an elective course, a family member, etc.” That is additional to the counselor, and two teachers.

So narrow it down to the recommendation that would show your positive qualities the best.
