# of teacher rec's

i know this is a really stupid question but how many teacher recommendations does Yale want? i cant seem to find this on the application or the website... thanks

They want two and discourage more than that.

thanks- and are their any specifics as to from whom (ie 10th, 11th, 12th grade teachers)?

The general rule is to stick with 11th and 12th grade teachers in academic subjects.

I don't think they discourage more...I sent an additional (crucial) one after discussing it with my regional rep.

I believe they want 11th-12th grade teachers, but I don't think it really matters. Just don't send 9th...

On they Yale website, it says they STRONGLY DISCOURAGE sending in addtional materials or recommendations. Also, nearly all colleges specify that they want recommendations from 11th and 12th grade teachers in academic areas.

Ah, oh well. The guy reading my application told me to send my third recommendation, and he knew why I wanted to, so I'm not concerned about it.

if you think about it, there would be no point in asking a 9th grade teacher anyway, unless you are still connected to that teacher somehow--- by sports, activities, etc. you know?

Send an additional letter if it adds something new. For instance, I sent a letter from a community leader that knows me outside of school.
