Off Campus Housing as a freshman

I have been accepted to Bridge at Clemson but don't have the money to pay $6,000 a year to live at Bridge's Housing at Highpointe. It says that all students must live there unless living at home with their parents. I would like to know if anyone knows a possible way around this to living in off campus housing? I would like to be closer to campus than highpointe is also it is to far away to even consider going into campus alot. I would like to be able to live near campus in affordable housing but from what I hear they force you to live on campus as a freshman. Can the system be beaten?

One of the board members of Tri-County Tech is the developer for Highpointe which is why (in my opinion) I think they make you live there but I’m pretty sure you’re going to have to pay the $6,000 to live at Highpointe. From housing website:

“All unmarried freshmen who are under the age of 21 at the time of enrollment who do not live with parent(s) [within a 50-mile radius of campus] are required to live in University-owned housing for the fall and spring semesters. (Written documentation is required.)”

Why don’t you just say your parents moved to your new address? That’s what everyone where I live did in high school to not have to go to the ghetto one. Put your parents on the lease and have an electric bill in their name, just incase they question it.
