Hey, I was wondering. Is it possible to still get access to both the food and the gym at UT Austin while living in an apartment off campus? I still want to be able to workout at the university when I can. I was wondering if I can or not.

Also, what's my chance of getting a single dorm if I applied for housing in mid January as a UT CAP Student? Is it possible to cancel your housing contract?

Thanks!

Oh, on a side note, do people know anything about this place? I was thinking about rooming here with a friend of mine, but I was horrified to see the reviews of this place: http://www.universityvillageaustin.com/

The chances of getting a single dorm room are remote – even for students well ahead of you on the wait list. There are not many single rooms available and are taken by students who originally applied for housing a year or two before you did.

You have the same access to the gym as any other student.

You can use your Bevo Bucks to purchase food on campus at a higher rate than the dine in dollars dorm residents get.

Bevo Bucks are really helpful, and you can get them whether you live on or off campus. You can use them with the on campus dining centers. You get 10% off the normal price (higher than what students living on campus pay, but still less than if you just paid with cash). You can also use Bevo Bucks in restaurants all around campus.

You don’t really have a very good change of getting a single room, like lisiatc said.
