Off-Campus Housing Questions/Recommendations

Hey guys!

Any current students or future students in the area, what are your living arrangements and how do you like them?

My boyfriend and I have both been accepted (sociology and aerospace engineering), and have officially decided to enroll. We don’t want to do on-campus housing, and don’t want to live at The Village because we don’t want roommates. We went down to the campus on Monday and started looking around at apartments, but most people said it was too early to do anything (considering we don’t want to move in until around August).

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on ‘affordable’, student-friendly housing near the campus that we can check out? Or on the other hand, any warnings about bad complexes?

Thanks either way, and feel free to add any questions/discussions about housing for the upcoming year.

At the risk of sounding like a parent - You should both sign up for the on-campus dorm and take the room-mate they assign you. You will learn a tremendous amount about yourself, have fun and make life-long friends. As counter-intuitive as it sounds, your relationship will be the stronger for it.

Good luck

Thanks, @NCalRent‌, but we’ve both already had the ‘roommate experience’ so to speak. We are transferring from a different college and are sick of rooming with others lol

Do you happen to know how long the dorm waiting list is?
