Does anyone have any insight into finding off campus housing? My son is looking for somewhere for next year.

Here ya go. Check this out. Its called padmapper. It looks great!
Also, I believe the housing office has a list of local landlords. Not sure how great that is, but can’t hurt to check. Another popular technique is to find a graduating senior and try to latch onto their place as their lease expires.

My s’s is going to be available. All three roommates are graduating. Its about 2 blocks from campus.
Gimme a shoult and I’ll direct you.
There are lots of ads and such on bulletin boards, and the housing office does have some resources as FC said. Don’t forget to ck the ads at Loyola.

do many Jr’s live on campus

Quite a few, many students prefer to live on campus all four years. Plus there is housing that is targeted for juniors and seniors, and they are building more such housing to accommodate future demand.

Yes there are upper classmen on campus, but housing cannot accomodate all upperclassmen. Here is some information about the next dorm to be constructed. [Bruff, Zimple quads to undergo construction - The Tulane Hullabaloo : News](thehullabaloo.com)

Jym626 - If Jordydog isn’t interested, please let me know the contact information. We are having a very difficult time trying to find a 3 bedroom close to campus.

will send you a PM.

how does housing usually work for people who study abroad?

also, how likely is it that students who want to live on campus will be able to get into aron?

thanks so much!

I will check with my s to see what the status is of their house.

Tulane14 - From what I see from the girls in my sorority, they rent a place and try to sublet it to someone for the semester.

let’s say hypothetically that if i am studying abroad next fall, would it be likely that i could live in aron during the spring semester when i return?

if it isn’t likely, when should i start looking for places to live next year? is it too early to be looking now?

Last year in January the school held a webinar about off campus housing. It was extremely informative, giving alot of tips about finding places and things that you should think about which might not have crossed your mind. I think they also gave names of some places to get second hand furniture. I’m sure I was alerted to it by email, so be on the look out.

To all of you inquiring about the house my DS currently occupies : He and his 2 roommates are graduating in the spring so will be moving out, but we are not the landlord and have no relationship with the landlord (other than traditional landlord/tenant ). My DS is certainly happy to help, but he was most surprised that people are looking this early. I am also not comfortable sharing his contact information unless you are willing to identify yourself to me. I am sure you understand. And apologies to the one of you to whom I accidentally sent this message via PM-- meant to post it here in the thread. Oops. :o
