Off-Campus Housing

So from what I've studied so far, there are two divisions of housing at UT Austin: On campus and Off Campus. On Campus is split into apartments and halls. Halls are like the move-like college dorms whereas as apartments are like small condos. Off-Campus housing is where is gets tricky for me. There are the three main private housing (Callaway, Dobie and Castilian) and there are other areas to live that offer condo apartments. Can anyone explain Off-Campus housing, because that's the route that I'll be taking. I've been using the website http://www.westcampusliving.com/ to do some research. Another question I have is that the price usually goes down for more beds/baths. Is the price based on per person? (I'm asking because I'm the only one from my area/school going to UT so finding a roommate will be hard + I prefer living by myself). Lastly, whats the best off campus residence? Thanks!

I am not a big specialist in apartments. When my daughter decided to move from campus I called a realtor (and was very happy about it)
I read some horror stories about apartments (how some apartment complexes take advantage of students with little life experience), and I also called some apartment complexes and was not happy about difference in actual prices and website prices, so I decided to get “professional help”
Here is the company we used Realsavvy SiteBuilder. Highly recommend.

There are a lot of private off-campus housing options. The Callaway House is the newest and I’ve heard good things about it from people I know who’ve lived there. University Towers is supposedly super messy and loud, it seems that lots of guys who go Greek live there (lots of partying)

Here’s a list of all private dorms I’ve come across

Callaway House: http://callawayhouseaustin.com
Castilian: http://thecastilian.com

I would look at the reviews, and from there go look at pricing. I’m pretty sure the pricings shown on most sites will be per person.
