off campus housing

I just got accepted as a transfer student and was placed in Arthur housing. Can people familiar please tell me how nice it is? At my old school the apartments were terrible and was wondering if this was also the case for fordham

Its very close proximity and some Fordham students actually crave being out on the Ave. They tend to be a bit more eclectic from what I have heard. In any event its all good. You will be close to campus and “on campus” most of the time anyway. Many Fordham students are over on the Ave eating, shopping or hanging out anyway. People in that district know Fordham students well and you are fairly safe there. BUT…don’t go wandering around late at night ANYWHERE off campus, particularly alone. Or inebriated. You are asking for trouble.

You can petition ResLife for an on campus dorm/apartment in your following years (Junior and Senior).

You can probably contact the reslife department and request on campus housing if you are uncomfortable living off campus. Rose Hill is much easier to get housing at than LC and they often do have it available. At the least you can go on the wait list- you’d find out if you received on campus housing by August 15th. If you’re okay living off campus don’t worry about it, but I know I’d be somewhat nervous!

a lot of people like the off campus housing. You’d be in a cool neighborhood.
If you try to get on-campus housing now, you probably would get Martyr’s court which is considered Fordham’s worst dorm. It houses freshmen and students who didn’t participate in the housing lottery for whatever reason or who did not get a room from the lottery process
