RH Off-campus Housing (Transfers)

Hello everyone! I’m transferring this Fall to Rose Hill and I am wondering if anyone has experience or information regarding off-campus apartments. I have read that the apartments provided by the University (Arthur, Terra Nova, Hughes) house 5-8 students, but usually 7. I also read that Arthur House doesn’t even have laundry facilities (?) The number of students to an apartment really turned me off and I’m wondering now if I should explore other options. Any info helps!

Join your class Facebook page. Students often post photos of their apartments when they are looking for roommates. The apartments are all close to campus in the Arthur Avenue area.

A friend who transferred in a few years ago was placed in that off campus housing. It isn’t idea, but she and a friend from her off campus room were able to move into Walsh for the spring semester so it worked out pretty well. Many people live off campus as well.

*ideal (sorry, typo)

Thank you for the replies! Unfortunately, I don’t have a Facebook, so I was hoping to find students on here lol. I’m thinking I’ll stick it out for my junior year in order to make friends and see what it’s about. Then, if I want to try to get a separate apartment next year I’ll do that.
I just wish they had floorpans or something on the site. I’m not sure if they’re available elsewhere, but I can’t find them. I’m picturing it kind of like a suite for dorms because I don’t know how 7 people could share an apartment like that. Oh well, time will tell!

What are opinions regarding having a meal plan while living off campus?

@EmRaeee - you might want to look into a basic commuter plan. Even though my daughter lived in Walsh and had a kitchen, we got her the cheapest commuter plan and just added DCB’s as needed during the year.
