Hello!
Just reccently I had a conflict with my senior year schedule and it looks like I’d have to take 2 off periods senior year. There is only one Calculus I class being offered at my local community college in the afternoon and the only way I can make this class is by taking those 2 off periods. Would taking these two off periods for a college level Calculus course look bad on my transcript? I would like to either take those 2 periods off and the Calc class or take one period off and an art class on my high school campus. My current top schools are Columbia, UCLA, USC, and NYU.
Thanks for all of your guidance
No, you’ll be fine. Almost all of my friends, including myself, did/are doing the same thing Senior year and have gotten acceptances to great universities from Dartmouth to UPenn to GaTech to MIT. You don’t have anything to worry about. Study but still have some fun Senior year. I wasted a lot of my Senior year stressing about college and every minute detail. Don’t do that; take your 2 periods off and do what you’re interested in.
That gives me a lot more reassurance! Thank you so much
They aren’t off periods because you are taking the CC class. Technically my son will have three off periods next year (the entire afternoon) because he is taking math and biology at a CC. Like @Jleto18 said, enjoy your senior year and try not to stress too much. Apply to some reasonable match and safeties along with your reach schools, and you’ll get in somewhere you’ll be excited to go.
You can also ask your guidance counselor to mention it in his/her college letter or recommendation.
I didnt actually think of that! Thank you
