Offcial 2012 AP US Government and Politics Thread

Walked in thinking it was going to be a piece of cake…yeah, not so much. Probably got a 3.

self-studied and still thought that was pretty easy, besides not knowing what caseworking is. so many questions were things we learned in apush

All in all, pretty easy. Probably missed about 5-10 MC’s. The FRQ’s were relatively simple, but i did not get the last question on the first FRQ and i kind of blanked on the 3rd FRQ Lol.
Hoping for a 4 :)

The MC was ridiculously easy. There were only a few that I wasn’t 100% sure on.

The FRQs…well, I don’t think I bombed them COMPLETELY. About half of them I knew off the top of my head, a few I had never even heard before and the others were a case of “I THINK that it’s this, but MAYBE it was this instead…” Overall, I’m not really confident. Probably barely got a 3.

By the way, on the ones where I wasn’t sure on the definition I ended up putting all the definitions I was considering for them and how they pertained to the question. Will I get docked for “shotgunning” like that?

Oh, I should add that I probably would have done better had I had the class this semester. As I’ve said before, I had it first semester.

It was literally the easiest AP test I have ever taken. I flew through the FRQs. All simple definitions and basic knowledge. The MC were harder, yes, but marginally. I’m so excited right now. 5 likely, 4 for sure.

Re: the question about congressional oversight over federal bureaucracies… I said that legislators are able to oversee the implementation of laws through regulatory agencies; this is correct, right? and congressional committees allocate funds that these agencies receive, exerting another power over them? was there a point I missed? that was the only thing I was really iffy about. that and an executive check on court decisions… all i mentioned was senatorial courtesy but idk if there was something more specific to the decisions themselves.

Having just looked up the main FRQs that I was unsure on…I’m a bit more confident now. Seems that I guessed correctly on most of them.

Honestly, that was the easiest AP test I’ve taken by far. I think that as long as you took APUSH (or were decent in US history) and have a decent grasp of politics, you were golden.

AP Govt was my 5th exam this season, and I thought the test was a piece of cake - Especially the FRQ. There were some weird MC questions though.

^^ did you have two MC… that were practically identical? and i didn’t think weird… more very very arguable for position as “best answer”

I was surprised on how many iron triangle questions there were. I was also annoyed that they said iron triangle was synonymous with issue networks because they are not!!!

^ yea, I saw that and I was like “I specifically remember learning about how they were NOT the same thing…” lol

How does initial war affect approval rating?

Always increases…

ok, good 10 char

Crap, don’t remember if I put that

So in the free response I hit a blank a few times so I skipped a couple lines sometimes between a and b deciding to move on to b and comeback to a later…

my friend told me on the back it said do not skip lines… is there going to be a penalty cause i did this a couple times.

^No, I am almost positive that you’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it. As long as your work’s there.

I got really mad about how they kept favoring federal bureaucracies…so in the frq about it,I wrote at the bottom how they were unconstitutional but I crossed a line through it so it couldnt be graded haha

^CB is favouring federal bureaucracies? How?

And they’re not necessarily unconstitutional…it depends on your interpretation, of course.
