mc0582…what were ur sat scores?..
i want to know for the honors program

you dont have to anything extra for the honors program do you?

AHH! Tomorrow for us PA people i think!!!

sats 2300
no i didn’t do anything extra

I just want to say, reading through all of this makes me more nervous than I should be. I actually think I have a legitimate shot at BC, but after reading that thing about the financial aid notification link (which, by the way, I unfortunately don’t have?) and how everyone with lower scores is getting deferred… I am genuinely freaked out.

I’m sitting here with a 2010 super score SAT, 28 ACT, and crap SAT IIs (US History - 610 and Literature - 610). I know my scores won’t be the reason I get into any college, but I have a 3.93 unweighted GPA as an IB diploma candidate. That better count for something. If it doesn’t, I have plentiful leadership with ECs and what I think is a pretty decent essay about a very unique project I started up. If I get deferred, I will be mad. Especially because if I were to get a deferral, it would be so much harder to push through the last five apps to the top tier schools…

Stop freaking out everyone. You’re freaking me out. I need to stop checking this.

As of last night my daughters AGORA site suddenly shows that they got transcripts and profile on 12/17 and she is EA. I hope that they are just now updating, but I have a feeling that her school didn’t get the info out. I also think it’s a sign of deferral since they might have moved her to regular decision…why else would they have updated her received documents with a date past EA…I’ll find out soon enough, but was really sad when I saw the update.

^^princetondad: You could have your D call admissions and find out when the stuff got there. I had an issue with my guidance counselor who told me I should not apply to BC (long story on another thread - nothing to do with my stats, just his opinion of BC) but he (begrudgingly) sent my stuff when I told him I was ignoring his advice and applying anyway. But the address where to send stuff apparently chanegd this year and is someplace in Randolph, Mass. (some clearinghouse service that sorts the apps for BC) NOT the admissions office in Chestnut Hill @ BC. He sent it to the wrong place and spelled my last name wrong on the cover letter, so, I had a big delay too because he sent my stuff to “Admissions Office, BC, Chestnut Hill, MA”.

I plan to complain to the head of guidance (after my RDs are all mailed) about the fact that I suspect he may have done it as some passive aggressive move because he was genuinely mad at me for applying after he told me not to.

Oh, and I got deferred. The deferral may be due to my stats, and not due to mis-mailed school info – I’m pretty sure BC and other schools know there are good GC’s and lazy GC’s, so they can’t hold missing school packages against applicants – but it couldn’t have helped that my guidance package was lost in the mail until just a couple of weeks ago while apps of other applicants were getting read and slots were filling up. I know guidance counselors are busy this time of the year but, for pete’s sake, it is really their only major task all year so you would hope they would do it right…

K i am sneaking on her during my free block… time to go…

BUMMERRR superfan! Where else you applying?

My S was deferred her in CT. ACT:33, 3.9 GPA. Many ECs. He applied to many schools and although her loves BC he has already been accepted into 3 other schools that he really likes as well and he is waiting to hear from several others. I think there’s a 20% chance of deferred being admitted in the RD round, so there’s still a bit of a chance.
