Is the official SAT ONLINE COURSE worth the money? Does it give you 6 new practice test that are not in the official sat study guide book? Are the lessons helpful? Since the subscription is only 4 months, is there anyway to copy the answer explanation for future use? Thanks for answering my questions.

Whether or not something is worth the money is relative, so i will explain what the course has to offer:

It gives you 6 practice tests that are not in avaiable anywhere else and 1 additional practice test that is available for free on the collegeboard website anyway.

The lessons basically say what's in the blue book, but there are 4 quizzes on each lesson / chapter of the blue book with more sample questions.

The course also provides answer explanations and autoscoring (including on essays) for bluebook tests, which can be nice. The essay scoring; however, provides no explanation for the score it gives you so it has marginal value. Still, it does show you 2 sample 6,5,4,3,2,and 1 essays, so it might help you self-score.

You can print out or copy and paste all the answer explanations, i guess, but it would be hundreds of pages. No joke. There are pointless and redundant paragraphs on why each individual answer choice is wrong. Collegeboard allows you to take the tests on paper, so maybe print out the tests and just the answer key?

Hopefully, these answers will be helpful for you to assess the value of the course.

Do NOT pay full price for it. It is not worth it at all.
The practice quizzes are helpful because there are explanations for the questions. The practice tests extremely helpful too, but don't pay all the money CB charges for it. The "lessons" are just everything that is already in the book.
I bought my online course off ebay for about five dollars.

The lessons are worthless, unless you don't know how to do the material in the first place, but there's a lot of practice material, including many quizzes and tests. The automated essay scorer is garbage (I tried entering random paragraphs from The Onion and randomly generated essays from essaygenerator.com and got 11-12), but as someone mentioned you should read the sample essays they provide.

but yea don't pay the full price, it's not worth it unless you can get it for free/cheap. Maybe try split the cost with a friend or two, cause you can retake the quizzes and tests as many times as you like, though the scores won't save.

cc2212 and Lalanickols I appreciate the help. cc2212 does the quiz also help somewhat; would you recommend getting it just for the extra practice test and perhaps the answers explanation?

Thanks skatj

you can buy the online course off ebay?

The quizzes are nice because if you know that there is an area that you have trouble on, especially if you don't get much experience with it on the practice tests, you can practice it. A good example is improving passages in writing. There are 8 passages in the 4 quizzes, so you can do lots of questions on that instead of waiting for the 1 passage per 3.3 hr test.

Otherwise, the quizzes are similar to test question, so the test is probably more valuable for a non-focused, overall practice experience.

Due to the 6 extra tests, the quizzes, and the answer explanations for 15 total tests, i think that the course has a lot to offer and is probably worth it if you have the time to take advantage of it fully.

this may sound stupid, but how do u not pay full price for it?

also, how long b4 your test date should u start the course? would it just be 4 months

Some high schools pay for it for you.
