Official 2006 PSAT Scores Thread

What is the [approximate] cutoff even to just be "commended" for National Merit?

" math-4 wrong, 1 omit-65 "

Christ. My estimated score just plummeted drastically.

^ I know. Not to make you feel any worse, but I missed 2 of the fill ins (which have no penalty for guessing), so theoretically missing 4 mc would be worse.

im assuming the cutoffswill go down for several states due to the harsh curves this yr

I hope so.

Geez, that writing curve kills. My state's cut-off was around a 219... Maybe it'll be like a 218 this year?

240, Saturday.

Take that, "scholarly vs. conversational"-ers.

Haha, just kidding (I mean the above comment, not my score). I'm sure you guys did great anyway.

did you really get a 240? That's amazing, I got somewhere from a 223-225

Fo shizzle. I was pretty surprised too, but hey, on any other test, it might have been <230. Good luck to you.

Thanks. ( BTW I was one of the scholarly vs. Conversational people :o)

hahahaha i remember that. it was the humor one, wasn't it? not scholarly.

===improving Reading Passages===

How do you improve your reading passage skills?

Yeah it was humor :( Oh well, when i was calculating my score, I took that as something wrong so it doesn't really affect my overall score

Ok so I got a question, how would these scores fare for the saturday test?
CR: -4
Math: -0 (80)
Writing: -3

CR: 75
Math: 80
Writing: 70?

Anybody know what score I would get if I got 10, 9, 8, 7 or 6 math questions wrong on Saturday?

Thanks everybody for all the help!

6-7 wrong...maybe a 60-62? b/c 2 wrong is 73

what do u guys think nj national merit is gonna be this yr.? last year was 224...will it be lower this year bc of the horrible curve

the "commended" students for national merit had just a 204-213. do you think it will be the same this year? or higher? or lower?

why are the curves so harsh! blaaahhh

uh oh, someone on cc already got a 240.

i have to beat him!
