omg the mailman's coming!!! i've been waiting 3 days already!!!

"Mine came today, yay. They were much worse than I expected though, I thought I had done really well

Reading - 9 wrong, 0 omit - 65
Math - 0 wrong, 0 omit - 80
Writing - 4 wrong, 0 omit - 69
Total: 214"

WEIRD, Krofh, I got the exact same breakdown as you. Were you looking over my shoulder? :)

I took the PSAT just for practice as a sophomore and got a 182, which is far below what I expected.

But I went to bed at 2 AM the night before and didn't even study for it (since it was just for the experience), so I'm not too discouraged.

236 (76 math, other 2 80).

Should be semifinalist even here in MA, if they look too closely at freshman grades though that will most likely knock me off

if 236 aint national merit, what is ^?

225 (76 math, 78 cr, 71 w)

Too bad I couldn't just cut off the 0 from my SAT score. Maybe I'll make semi-finalist, but just barely. Pft. New Jersey.

i took as practice (sophomore) without practice... but did below what i expected:

saturday test
CR- 4 wrong 1 omit- 75
M- 0 wrong 0 omit- 80
W- 5 wrong 0 omit- 66
total- 221 >:(
i didn't think i got that many writing wrong...

4 wrong, 1 omit is a 75? I can't figure out the reading curve....
I thought 4 wrong and 0 omit is a 75

I cant believe that one wrong on the math is a 76 >.>. The sad part was I could have gotten the problem I missed right if I had had one more minute...

ooops i meant 3 wrong 1 omit :)

Oh, okay :)

PSAT scores are out? Why haven't I seen mine yet.... gah.

your school decides how/when they get distributed :)

I'm predicting I'll get a 210ish in Minnesota. That'll probably leave short of nm semifinalist. I know being a semifinalist looks pretty good on applications, but how do colleges look at commended students?

I am freaking terrified. I think my school is usually slow in getting them... I'm going to cry.

Don't worry guys. Mine came today and before it came, my school guidance counselor said that if they don't come by this week and early next week, it will probably come on week of 18th so don't worry, it will "eventually" come.

I got:
57 CR
80 Math

53 Writing

190 Total

Okay I know I'm far off from NMSQT anyway but I would be content with my score if my writing wasn't so ridiculously low. My CR improved by 8 points from last year but my writing (even though I studied for it and got 700 once on practice) got 2 points lower than last year.

I think I DEFINITELY need to watch out for this when I'm taking SAT in January but I honestly don't know what to do for writing. Other thread suggested RocketReview. What do you guys say, you 80 on writings?

uh...pay attention to what you say and how you say it?

review grammer?

I still have not received mine. I guess they're still getting mailed out..

to improve writing, just read. it's that simple. you'll get used to hearing properly constructed sentences and it will be easier to recognize errors. you can also try to review simple grammer, like kyzan suggested (e.g. the "different from" rule, fewer vs. less...). try to pay attention to what every word is modifying in the sat sentences. this way, you'll know if a word must be plural or singular.
