So, how do you guys think you did on the AP Chinese test this afternoon?

I thought the MC was really easy, the FR not so much. The essays topics were simple, but I definitely couldn't work the IME input thing, so I had a couple of wrong characters in the essay.

I didn't do very well on the speaking (I think) because I entirely blanked out and did not know what to say.

How well do we have to on the FR to get a five, if say we missed 3 or 4 on the MC?

I took it last year, and I was basically in the same position as you. I don't think I missed many on the MC, but I felt like I completely flubbed the FRQ. I remember in one of the questions, I forgot the name of the holiday I was supposed to be talking about, and I freaked out and accidentally started speaking Cantonese instead.

I still got a 5.

thanks blondie08. that's a bit reassuring. well, i guess i'll just have to wait and see in july! :)

I think I did well on the MC and also the writing...like most other people, the speaking was rather challenging for me. I thought I did okay on the talking part, but that's just me. I wonder how hard this year's test was compared to last year's...which supposedly 80% of test takers got a 5 on.

=/

i hope they keep the same score distributions crosses fingers

I finished MC 40 minutes early and checked over my answers 5 times.
So, I'm pretty sure I didn't miss that many on the MC.
The FR was pretty awful though. I wasn't really sure how much to type so I just used up all the time. I thought the questions were pretty hard though. The speaking portion was a disaster...

Darn...I should've taken this test for the lulz.

scraped the mc and writing frq hella good. but the speaking part was a joke. I was laughin so hard at the guy next to me and then i started laughing becuase i was laughing on this ap test and yeah, so at least 30 sec of my 2 minutes on each were laughing.

Hi everyone,
I really wanted to take it but my school doesnt offer it and other schools wouldnt let me test!
So how was it? Was it Internet based? Was there a writing portion? Are you guys native speakers? And I don't mean to stalk you guys - but do you guys live in an area w/lots of Asians, Chinese people b/c I really want to take it in '09!
THANKS

I'm in San Francisco, and my school is about 75% Asian. Last year over 120 kids took the test.
