Official 2008 Questbridge National College Match Discussion and Help

and yes, we are jitter bugs, nervous about our futures.

MATCH= TOP TIER COLLEGE FOR FREE

UNmatched, Rejected = bum on the street

^ they don't care. That's the rules. You'll have to make a decision.

I'm pretty sure that if your school has the AP/ SAT scores on your transcript, you don't have to fax in other proof.

whoaaaa

I just got an email telling me I have a one week extension...but I already finished + submitted it.

No more server crashes! Yay!

I think it would only be unfair if the option hadn't been available to everyone. I simply prayed to get maybe even a day for an extension, so I submitted the request and I got it.

hmmm, life sucks

CONGRATS. ITs good to get it submitted tho

Done. Glory, Hallelujah!

Is it possible to still get an extension even though I just submitted the extension request?

Oh yeah, is it alright if I submitted it like 4 times to make changes?

I was wondering for the colleges that when you get accepted as a finalist, they say questbridge can not be "in lieu" of their application

does this mean that if i apply to stanford, stanford will not see the questbridge application but only their own?

twk47 has a great question. There are many partner colleges that require their own app or Common, along with their supplement, for QB finalists. That being the case, do they get the QB app, too? If so, isn't that sort of redundant? 99% of the info would be a total duplication, and the way adcoms already complain about having so little time to read apps, how can anyone expect they'll go over two complete applications from the same applicant? I'm confused.

^ they don't. they just go over questbridge one. the common app is only a cover (so that people don't think there's an easier way to get into those top tier colleges which is NOT true at all)

my question is that. don't the common ap and supplements have different questions and essays?
are we supposed to copy past our obstacles into why we want to go to a certain college. that seems weird

^
I think QB would be sent, but they expect you to fill out their supplements, and they'll simply skim QB, confirm you're poor and high achieving etc.

BTW, can anyone vouch that if you become a finalist, you can still opt out of match?

Will Stanford accept the QuestBridge Application in place of the Stanford application?
No. Stanford requires that all applicants complete the Common Application and the Stanford supplement after being identified as a QuestBridge Finalist. If you are not identified as a finalist, please also use the Common Application with Stanford Supplement when applying to Stanford.

As a QuestBridge applicant you are welcome to use any information, essays, etc., that you submit for the QuestBridge application, but you must cut and paste them on to our forms and submit them online using the Common Application and Stanford Supplement

from website

Hey,
I had previously submitted the application twice after editing but i was editing it a third time and though I saved and continued, I forgot to submit.. What happens then ? Will they just take the application after my second edit ?

Also now instead of completed it says in Progress.. What now ?

Thanks

Is QuestBridge denying anyone access to their things? I keep trying to edit my college rankings but it tells me that I am not 'authorized to access this page'.

Are official AP scores supposed to be sent?

^
If you get accepted to the colleges, yeah. Otherwise no.

Schools requiring both the Common Application and the QB app use the QB app as "supplemental information." My guess is they read it over, particularly looking for any special circumstances you've faced in life. They definitely do use the Common App.

hey is anyone else still able to edit their app even though its october 2??

i submitted my app and it says completed under all my teacher recs and that my application status College Match Student Application Completed and Submitted.

maybe im just paranoid but i wanna make sure does this mean my app was received and im completely done?? anyone else have this and if so why does it still say i can edit my app even though on the side it says completed under MY APP too.

WTH under the edit college match rankings when i click edit it says my access is denied.

should i email them?? i needed to change the rank of a few schools

the rankings should not be denied... They're not even due...
