dvm258 : I am so sorry that you didn't get in to UF. I have really enjoyed your posts for quite some time...always insightful and interesting. Please consider an appeal. Our neighbor was rejected a few years ago. He went up to appeal twice but didn't hear back. He accepted a spot at UCF. Then, the week before Summer B, UF called him and said if you can get up here for Summer B, you are in. He went and now years later he is so happy. I say don't give up. Show them how much you want it. Make an appointment and go up and plead your case. I wish you all the best!

Seiclan: Now you are a house divided!

I think you all need to just move on...you all already found out whether you got into UF or not so why are any of you continuing to come to this wasting your time. I am a freshman at UF now and I remembered posting crap on this forum until I actually got in...then I was like holla peace! lol...

but anyway congrats to you all that made it, and im sorry to those who didnt. and as far as this dvm guy, i completely understand your feelings about this because had i not have been accepted to UF they would have been cussed out our something. u others need to understand its a very bad feeling being rejected somewhere when you were deserving, however, dvm you need to understand that UF clearly stated in its rejection letter (saw my gf's) that they were not able to admit all of the deserving applicants because they just could not accommodate for the size....you know you were deserving, and probably more than others, but they had to draw the line somewhere...you and OTHER qualified people were rejected, its not like you were the ONLY qualified person who was rejected....i mean ill tell u right now, UF isnt all what it seems anyway, its a school thats millions and millions of dollars in debt and its full of cocky people and im tired of walking around the honors residence hall and being one of the only normal non-freak looking people.....

but in any case, good luck to all, because at this point, no one really cares if you were accepted or rejected =)

S2 was accepted--OOS. He loves the Gators, but probably will be going to another school in the fall--good luck to all of you!

When I checked my son's status, it had the usual brief statement acknowledging that he had been accepted. Then below that it has a nice form letter from J. Bernard Machen, with a photo of the bell tower and auditorium, welcoming him to the school "one of the most dynamic communities to be found anywhere". Is that on everyone's acceptance page, or is that just an extra friendly detail?

It makes absolutely no sense to me but I'm fairly happy with UM. I have a $24,000 scholarship. I may have gone there anyway. It is an emotional blow though.

My daughter's status page has still not been updated. I was wondering if there were others out there with the same situation. This is very stressful.

umcane,

I am sorry you were rejected. Your stats are very impressive. I think UM is an excellent school, and you are very lucky to have gotten that scholarship. Good luck!

Seriously, when I see people like you rejected and compare you to some of my friends that got accepted, it makes me wonder if these people are thinking straight.

My daughter is still waiting.. no update to her status page.. here is what it says.. Can anyone see something missing? It looks complete to me.

umcane: I'm very surprised that you got rejected. You seem very qualified, but you just never know with UF. I'm very sorry, and I'm sure you will love UM.

DVM: I just wanted to tell you that when I was trying to check my decision, and the website was crashed, I saw that you posted that you got rejected, and from then on I was about 95% sure that I would get rejected as well. I really think you deserved to get in. This is obviouslyyy the place you want to go, and I think you should definitely appeal. Good luck!

Well, UF admission is very different and I still wouldn't be surprised if my appeal doesn't work. My parents probably can't afford either to send me to U of Illinois so I'll go to the UCF honors college. I heard it was good anyway. Thanks for the best wishes.
