@mada34 It really depends on the essay. Summarizing is bad if that’s essentially all your essay consists of. But discussing events by describing them and then analyzing them isn’t bad.

On an unrelated note, when I saw the DBQ topic, I wanted to bang my head on the table. All this talk about Gilded Age, Imperialism, New Deal, Civil War, WWI… then it ends up being Nixon.

Thank you… It appears as if I secured an A in that class (which at this point is all that matters for me).

Wait…are you saying that plantation agriculture didn’t exist before cotton? Cuz I’m pretty sure it did…just because it wasn’t cotton didn’t mean it wasn’t a plantation.

If it didn’t, I’m screwed for that FRQ, haha xD

And yeah, I totally expected a DBQ on the Gilded Age. Christ.

Rice works fine! I was going to mention rice, but I wasn’t sure (since most rice come from Asia >.<). I checked and rice works great! Just mention things like slaves worked hard in farms and were uneducated to prevent unionizing.

luciDream, the scores dont exam come back until july, can your teacher give you a grade for that?

why aren’t more people talking about MC questions?

DBQ on Gilded Age = fail
DBQ on Nixon = Godsend since we spent a WHOLE WEEK in class discussing Nixon (which makes me wonder if my AP teacher got some sort of hint… hmmmmmmmm)
When people say plantations, they mostly mean cotton. But it is true there are other types of plantations. As long as you specify, or the grader doesn’t naturally assume cotton, you should be fine.

He told us to come back on our senior year and request a grade change. He said it’s possible since he did 7 people last year.

Yeah, I specified tobacco…so hopefully I’m good xD

My teacher also switches out grade, but he only requires a 3

anyone here do frq 3? i thought that was REALLY easy since it was such a broad time period!

i just wrote a whole ton on federalists and how they failed and how jacksonian democracy and its issues split the nation as well. probably 6-7 OI total.

also for the one on african american rights …

i basically said the goals were the same: equality, but the strategies were different as my thesis. good?

what was the questions with two people, I think authors?, about the 1950s?

I was surprised that more didnt do three. Much more concrete stuff to pull from. Question two was way to vague and allowed for people to make all those mistakes about plantations, etc… When you have an essay that relies mostly on generalities, things usually go awry.

im a bit worried about handwriting for my essays. throughout the entire year my teacher has been able to read my relatively messy handwriting and ive gotten 8 and 9s on my essays. do i have anything to be worried about?

Did anybody actually write “Gotta get down on Friday” on their paper and crossed it out? lol

I wrote random stuff and crossed them out; I know a kid in my class wrote about slaves coming to the US on unicorns x) No discussing MC, guys. And…the internet isn’t the best place to talk about the FRQs and the DBQ I love how the teachers admit that their students talked to them about the test, haha.

I think I may have gotten a 5 (according to AP Pass, I could have pulled 70/80 on the MC and get like a 5, 4, and a 3 and sill get a 5!) The MC was ridicilously easy (like factual, CP level easy) with the few exceptions of post 1980 stuff. Luckily, I remembered so many answers from my 5 am google hunt this morning. Thanks for wikipedia, haha! I chose #3 and #5. I think I did worse on the essays than I do in class (7s) but regardless, I’m sure I got a 4+.

I wrote “Gotta get down on Friday!” at one point during the DBQ, and I put “Rebecca Black” instead of Nixon in one place also. Of course I crossed both of them out with a single line haha

I chose #2 and #5. I kinda BSed #2, but I got some of the ideas right, like mentioning indentured servants and the middle passage.

The MC seemed REALLY easy to me. It was funny, because I kelt remembering specific things that I had studied last night that had really helped me.

This exam was so much easier than what I had expected. The multiple choice was ridiculously easy thanks to the Crash Course book. The DBQ was a godsend since it was the last unit my class went over, and I got an 8 on the DBQ we did for that unit. The FRQ’s were also a lot less intense than what I had expected as well.
Anyone out there who didn’t do 2&5? those two seemed like the only ones that anyone did in my school.
Advice for people taking it next year: Read the Crash Course book, it recalls so much stuff and says what’s actually important to know.

Word ND, the crash course was the way to go.

I mean its so dumb to not discuss the MC. Honestly all of you have taken the SAT’s when is it ever enforced. I don’t think they’re going to know who JNeemz35 is. Besides you can discuss the essays, but not the MC?

im glad with whatevr i got lol i worked as hard as i could and im fine with whatevr. But im so happy this course is finally over!!! yay!
