*Official 2012 AP World History Thread*

Don’t worry. im a sophomore and I just called and got my score – 5!

I got a 4, but I just flat out took it after AP Euro last year (5) and AP US this year (5) and that’s all. No exclusive studying.

Got a 5! Cramming with PR did the job quite well.

How did everybody do?

I need advice for prep books for next year please.

I self studied and got a 5 using PR as my main review book and used Barron’s to look up anything I was unsure of.

Haven’t gotten my score back. APWH was the only AP I took this year so I don’t see the need for me to call. I would be mighty surprised if I got lower than a 4 though. I used an old PR for review. The information is a liiiiittle outdated because of the exam change but it was alright.

Tips for next year’s APWH students: do not focus much time on pre-500 AD history. It composes less than 20% of the exam. Also, spend a lot of time on China, India, and Africa.

I called and received my score. I got a 5!
I mainly used the Barrons Sat Subject test book for world history for this AP, but my friend had the 5 steps to a 5 book and it seemed to have a lot of consolidated information regarding the particular essays in respect to different civilizations, nations, cultures, and eras. It’s your call if you want the book with ALL the information (some not needed), a.k.a Barrons, or 5 steps to a 5 which SEEMS to be more consolidated but may be lacking some crucial info.

Got a 5! I was so happy and surprised and I had to hear the score twice to make sure I wasn’t dreaming =) I used 5 Steps to a 5 and Crash Course. I really like 5 Steps because it had good overviews of every topic, a “rapid review” at the end of each section with just the key notes to remember, and a quiz at the end of each section so you could constantly quiz yourself. Also, it has a diagnostic test at the beginning and two sample tests at the end, so it basically has three full-length tests, and each has answers with explanations and recommended topics for the essays, both of which were so useful. Crash Course was ok. A lot of people in my class absolutely loved it - it’s a good brief review, but I felt it was too little information. It was definitely a good overview though, and it comes with an online test as well.

Got a 5! I am really happy because I completely BS’ed the second essay involving Africa. I just crammed in a lot in 2 days after taking the class at school. However, most of the multiple choice on the test was analyzing passages and determining trends in a certain time period so I did felt better after the test  Hope everyone did well!

I just called and I made a 5! I am really happy! I took the World History exam, along with Psych (also a 5). I used Kaplan for quick reviews and 5 Steps for more in-depth review. (:

I just called and I received a 5! I am so excited! I mostly used my textbook and the 2012 Princeton Review book to study. I felt very confident on the multiple choice, so if there were any place that brought me up to a 5, it would be that. The only essay that was difficult was the change over time in my opinion. Mostly, I’m glad I didn’t spend $8 to be disappointed!

I just called for my score. I got a 5!! I’m so happy and shocked right now. This was my first ever AP course as a freshmen, and even though I did expect to pass once I took the exam, I didn’t expect to score so high! At first, I didn’t call, but all my friends in the class did, and I kept hearing that everyone got 1’s and 2’s, so I panicked and called myself. The entire year, everyone from my history teacher to the superintendent has been telling my class (only 15 freshmen were allowed to take AP World this year), we weren’t expected to pass the exam. Gah, it’s a nice feeling to prove them wrong

I used Princeton Review, plus a ton of online study guides/resources.

I GOT A 5! I was actually screaming this and AP Comparative Government (which i got a 4 on) where my 1st AP Tests, Im so excited! I didn’t use any extra study materials i took about 10 practice tests mostly in class.

I was sooo nervous…got my ap world scores in the mail today. I am sooo happy!!! Got a 5!!!
I was half-hyperventilating and I am not surprised but really glad i got it!!!
How did everyone else do???

Haha, got a 4. I’m happy. I was worried I’d do worse since my teacher ended up leaving halfway throughout the year and I didn’t do any studying outside of class. =p

5, tho im predicting a point breakdown of 68/70 MC and 3/7 on all the essays. :stuck_out_tongue:
princeton review saved my life, lol.

Do we get a point breakdown? When?

Sadly you don’t get a point breakdown. :(

I got a 5! Yay! This was my first-ever AP exam, and I’m so excited :)
