it was a= -2/5 and b = 20 or a was something else but i know b was 20. It was a VERY tricky problem. had me thinking like crazy

What was the one that had something to do with a+bi? Was the answer a-bi?

yea it said that the taxi was 7 miles east and 3 miles south so you could assume origin.

Taxi one for me came out to be the distance frm (0,0) to (10,1)

the question said the force was inversely proportional to the square of the distance, so the original force was 12, so the force was 1/144, so the answer was 6rad2 because the inverse square of 6rad is 1/72

Haha i was told the opposite TG, that all the asians would be taking it in the summer and so the curve would be more harsh than usual

For the pet one I guessed too and put a=2/5 b=4 but I had no idea how to do it

@hotelrwanda no because the taxi moved north, west, and then east so the coordinates moved
@smfmets18 i don’t remember the answer but i think i put b or c. you had to plug them all in for 20a+b=12, 25a+b=10, 30a+b=8, etc.

i did the distance from the route that the taxi took as well. The answer choice wasn’t there… I then reread and put the headquarters at the origin and the answer was there.

@runner, that’s what I put, because that cancelled out the i terms, and left an i^2 which is just -1.

I’m also pretty positive that 3 was wrong for the nail one.

um i’m pretty sure the 1/d^2 one was 6sqrt(2).
just think about it 1/12^2 = 1/144. double 1/144 and you have 1/72. to get the d for this one you gotta take sqrt(72) = 6 sqrt(2). waaaa laaaa.

the answer after the taxi moved west wasn’t there.

For the pets one, I think I put C. You had to put in the equation for 12 pets aswell as 10, 8… and so on. The first two worked for 12 but not others. I can’t remember that question well

I got the taxi as 10.
You guys got it as 8?

Yeah its 6rad2 for the reason @futurewolverine described on the first page.

F=1/(R^2)
(Plug in R for 12)

Double that answer (Now 2F), and Plug it back in and solve for R^2

idk i guess i got it wrong then…

The abs(x)=-x

x=0 right?

@smfmets18: the answer was a. -2/5 and b. 20

Also, the sum of an arithmetic sequence (it was like you add a dollar a day) I just tried the 1st answer choice and it worked (12 I think). Is that correct?

6sqroot2 is the same thing as 3sqroot8 which is what I got. 3sqroot8 must not have been an answer choice. The answer I got was sqroot72, and I calculated all the answers given out and put whichever one was equal to sqroot72, so I guess the answer was 6sqroot2.
