<p>I just got back from it. I had a great time. I liked that the schedule was really free. You can basically do whatever you want with your host (current freshman student at the school you got admitted into). Everyone there kept telling me how USC is the best school ever.</p>
<p>^ I agree with JacobStudent. I LOVED exploreUSC; the school treats you like royalty, the weather was fantastic, and everyone I met as very friendly and passionate. You can tell that the students enjoy being there and doing what they do. </p>
<p>One tip: bring comfortable shoes!! I only brought my pair of interview heels, which was a big mistake. There’s a lot of walking on campus, from the tour to whatever nighttime activities you decide to partake in.</p>

<p>Son interviewed and said almost all the questions were about what he wrote in his application. So as others have said, it would be good prep to read over your application before the interview. I don’t think anyone can list questions here because each would have had different ones.</p>
<p>It’s just like any other college interview except you have three people interviewing you. It mainly consists of you talking about your personality, extracurriculars, etc. Don’t worry about it.</p>
<p>I’m going on the explore this thursday! Any tips for what to wear on the first day of the program?? Is it pretty casual or more of a dress-to-impress type thing?</p>
<p>wear whatever is most comfortable. if you did not apply to letters and sciences, you will split up into a smaller-ish group for your specific academic information session. There were 19 kids last Monday who applied to Marshall and I was the only one wearing a USC sweatshirt, which the Marshall reps commented on positively. Dont overthink it.</p>
<p>Yeah, like highschoolstudent said don’t over think it. Just dress casual. I went this thursday and I’m a business major. I wore jeans and a USC sweatshirt, but I was also the only one with a sweatshirt at that point lol. The only wardrobe you should really worry about is for the interview but even then some slacks or a dress will do, as long as you look presentable.</p>
<p>My son attended last week and said the interview was just as Maddenmd and JacobStudent have said; the three panel interviewers are a current scholar student, an admissions rep, and a professor from the school which you’ve applied to. I think they try to match you with a professor from your major too if you’re in the LAS college. My son is ‘undecided’ but his second choice is IR and he had an IR professor on his panel. They pretty much just asked him questions surrounding what is in your application. It was a easy discussion he said but sometimes, one of the panelists would cut his answers short so they could have time to ask more questions. They ran out of time in his interview so that’s an indication about how fast it really goes (there around 30 minutes). Also regarding dress, the first day is very casual, shorts, jeans whatever you’re comfortable wearing. The 2nd day, many of the male candidates wore suits for the interview. My son was one of the only ones who wore dress slacks, collared shirt/tie without a jacket. He felt fine however but if you don’t want to stand out and you’re male, you may want to wear a suit or sport jacket. Good luck to those who have yet to attend.</p>

<p>The one thing I can suggest is having a great interview outfit. Most guys were dressed well, however a few of the girls were confused on what “Business Attire” was. Make sure that your outfit doesn’t take away from who you are. For those of you who went Thursday and Friday of last week, I’m in a bit of a bind and can’t remember the last name of one of my interviewers. He was a student, first name Michael, latino, very friendly. Did anyone have him and if so do you know his last name? Good luck to all of you who are attending this week! It’s a blast.</p>

<p>I was born quite a while ago and I have a D going to Explore Thursday so I’m trying to sanity check what not to do (I’ve always been a “tomboy” so want to be sure what I recommended to D is on track). </p>
<p>She’s got a Royal Blue long sleeve knit blouse with some tiny ruffles on it, with nice black slacks and a fitted blazer-style jacket in black. We tried to hit a middle ground between what I thought looked professional and what she would feel okay wearing. She also has two inch heel pumps to wear. Does this sound okay?</p>
<p>Hello. I would just like to emphasize that “Don’t worry about your interview” is NOT good advice to give. I was really grilled in my interview on current events and policies, and am a bit confused as to why. I was told throughout the program (which I absolutely LOVED by the way) the same thing: Don’t worry, just know what you wrote in your application. Thank goodness I knew how to answer well enough, but I was definitely caught off guard. </p>
<p>But this program was by far the best experience I have had when it comes to events of these kinds. It was so much fun and I absolutely cannot see myself going anywhere but USC. Enjoy it!

<p>^None of the Marshall kids or my friends in the Letters+Sciences had an experience like that. Anyway, anyone chosen to interview is probably adept at extended conversation anyway.</p>
