JEEZ I had different questions because of my time zone and I found out that you guys all got questions on topics I’m an expert on (because I’m from Turkey and so we’ve spent 8+ years on the history of Ottoman Empire and other Mediterranean nations) Life’s so unfair :/

Well you got a few more hours to study!

Does anyone remember any answers on the Mc of the Ap exam. I want to know if I did good or not.

The answer to all the MC was E.

What about the one that had 2 africa maps. What was the answer for that? I put something with Erope politicaly dividing it or something like that.
And what about the hamburger ones? was it c, the one that had globalization in it?

So from all test takers from the past year…how hard is it to get a 4? Like if you feel like you did good on the multiple choice and did consistently well (like 4-6ish) on each essay is it possible to get a 4?

I think it was like resilience to outside cultures…

Anyone taking SAT World?

I KNOW 2012 was released because some people I know took it as a take home test (which the teacher collected)

PLEASE share it with me klin1668 at gmail . Com

well, my school is taking the ap examination on Wednesday merely because classes were behind in curriculum which did not allow us to fully study. though i know the college board makes multiple versions of the test, i do believe they keep recycling it by mixing it around considering how strict they are with releasing test details. can anyone tell me what the multiple choice and free response were like? i would appreciate it if more than one person answered so i can compare the different versions.

^uh, you’re not going to get the same version as us, pal.

Here’s what you need to know: There were questions. 70 of them, to be exact. And 3 essays. The questions varied in difficulty, as CollegeBoard is prone to do.

The end.

Make sure you study dinosaur socio-economics.

In any event, they have released the 2013 essay prompts if you scroll down to where it says 2013:

Since the essays were released…can someoen tell me about my responses?

Analyze the connections between regional issues and Europe’s global struggles for power in the mid-18th century.
- I basically talked about how political conflicts( such as England and France) led to the English wishing to invade French colonies. Also, I talked about the lack of variety of resources in nations such as Britain which led to their expansion.

Part B

Analyze the cultural change and continuities as a result of political transformations in the Mediterranean region during the years 200 CE to 1000 CE.
- I talked about how many relgions remained in the area, due to one nation not gaining absolute control fo teh Med. area. I also said Christianity became more prominent and faith came to hold a larger role in people’s lives.
Part C

Analyze the similarities and differences with ONE of the regions listed (China, Russia, Ottoman Empire) with Japan’s state-run economic development in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
- I compared Japan and Russia. I said in russia, the industrial revolution was state propelled, as opposed to Japan where it wasn’t. I mentioned both built factories and tried to create jobs/ sources of income. I said incorrectly that Japan was restricted from the west in this time period :P

Tell me how I did!

That’s good^

For me:

Part A: Basically talked about how Europe was power hungry and sought to control parts of the whole world which led to regional conflicts with native dying (like Native Americans and British) and how Britain invaded other colonies too (like British into France). Definitely not my strong essay.

Part B: Talked about how Christianity became dominant in the region and talked about the Schism (even though it hadn’t happened quite yet… :/). Hope I’ll be okay on that. Talked about how the Schism led to new languages and diffusion of all that.

Part C: Picked Russia and said how Russia’s Communist politics led to them interfering with the economy since they controlled how much was produced and all…also talked about how Japan wasn’t as involved with the world economy before that time period whereas Russia was…talked about how WWI affected mainly Russia, and WWII affected both economies greatly.

Question: How far did you guys assume “early 20th century” meant? I did all the way up to the end of WWII, so like 1945ish.

Unfortunately, you are completely wrong in thinking that Japan didn’t industrialize through its state. Japan’s economy was revamped in the Meiji Restoration of 1868.

For this essay, I also compared Japan and Russia. I used basically everything that was key as far as I know, including:

Both shifted away from feudalism (Meiji Restoration gave power to emperor in 1868 and Russia abolished serfdom in 1861)
Japan industrialized much more rapidly than Russia (as evidenced by Japan’s crushing Russia in the Russo-Japanese War)
Both derived economic reform mainly from the whims of a single ruler (emperor in Japan and a communist leader in Russia)
Russia built the Trans-Siberian Railroad in 1890 which helped ship goods, while Japan obviously had to ship things overseas
Both gave women a role in their economies (Japanese women could work in textile factories and run production lines I think? And Russia was communist and therefore allowed women to pursue some skilled occupations)
I’m not sure if I said that Japan focused on textiles while Russia had no dominant product (and I don’t know if that’s true…)
Japan never collectivized, while Russia collectivized under Stalin
I was going to say that Japan wasn’t capitalist while Russia incorporated bits of capitalism at one point under Lenin’s New Economic Policy but I wasn’t sure about Japan

Probably other stuff

Also, I’m nervous about what I said about Stalin because that was after WWI and might not be considered early… Hopefully they consider everything post-1850 and pre-1950 within the time period because they were pretty god damn ambiguous.

For the CCOT I spoke about how:

At the start of the time period, Rome’s official religion was paganism
Initially, they persecuted Christians because they wouldn’t worship the emperor (true story)
In the Edict of Milan they legalized Christianity
In the Edict of Thessalonica, Theodosius made Christianity the official religion
Originally, bureaucrats didn’t play a huge rule in things but eventually the Byzantines had a quasi meritocracy
West Rome became fragmented after 476 and therefore regional variations of cultures arose
Byzantine culture diverged from West Roman
Catholic Church unified under the Pope was the glue in the otherwise fragmented region
I think I said something about how the Byzantines became Orthodox, but that may or may not be considered out of the time frame

In both my CCOT and Compare I said some questionable things. I’m not sure why, considering I had ample information. Also god damnit why didn’t I talk about Justinian there was so much to say about him…

Wait we ARE allowed to discuss our essays’ specifics now aren’t we?

Can someone tell me if I would get a 2 or 3 or 4 on my dbq
Ok here is the problem, i only grouped them in 2 ways.

the good thing is i used additional doccuments ( 2 of them) 1 POINT
I used POV in like 4 documents 1 POINT

was my theseis good? I kind of restated the question and said some alliances were strong while other were weak. ( 1 POINT OR 0 POINT )
I also used all the documents, even though i kind of bs on like 4 of them. ( 1 POINT or 0 POINT )

Hm…In my DBQ I mentioned the source of Conflict between Prussia, Saxony and Austria was derived from the splitting of the Holy Roman Empire, would this get me the historical context point or not?

You’ll be fine…I figured “early” meant to the end of WWII…I mean, mid is like 50’s to 70’s…

VS12345, there isn’t really a historical context point for the DBQ, only for the CCOT. However, if you elaborated enough on it and it was clear that you used outside information, it could help you get expanded core points, provided you got all 7 basic core.
