****Official 2013 Harvard Waitlist Thread****

Talking about the nationality, I think our parents addresses says where we are from but not that of the school we’re attending. For example, i’m Andover student from Brazil, I will be international wait-listee though my regional rep is MA.

Here’s hoping tomorrow will be a good day for us all.

Z-listee is admitted but deferred until Spring or next year.

i dont think you can be z-listed to the Winter/spring semester of next year

oh in that case you’re right, serendipity. i was assuming we were only talking about when waitlist results would come back

Yeah, then in that case, I think it just goes according to who your regional admissions officer is, as opposed to anything else.

i’m waitlisted also (CA)

i’m waitlisted (NH)

thanks ruberducky28 and serendipity!
my main question was about when I would hear back (hopefully) so that really helped out.

interesting bar graph thing for all ivies…

sorry to be blunt:

so basically, if we don’t get a call by tuesday our chances of getting off goo WAY down?

(or was it wednesday?)

medkid06 - answer is yes

is it tues or wed?

wait, why?

i thought this is new (May 12) to the thread

The Admissions Committee has already begun to admit students from the waiting list. “While we still need to hear from a few more of the students admitted in April, it appears that we will be able to admit at least 85 students,” said Marlyn McGrath, director of admissions. “We will admit as many as possible this month and complete our work no later than July 1,” she said.

Okay, so, correct me if I’m wrong but in summary, our situation is this:

Not too many people have been called nor have too many decisions been made regarding the waitlist. Most calls will be made in the next two days

If we don’t get a call by Tuesday, our chances are not very good

Right?

^ Pretty much. This kinda sucks a lot.

So on what date should we expect the rejection letters?

AUGH, you guys finally guilt tripped me into making an account. It’s like using silver iodide to seed clouds; we start dropping out like rain T_T

I’m NorCal waitlist.

Oh and, right after I read the post that acceptances would be given out by the 20th, I went and called the admissions office, and when I asked them to confirm this date and method, my response was a cold, hard, “All decisions will be made by July 1st.” Has anyone double checked this, or are we just flying off old information? 'ts not my intent to say that whoever posted this is trying to kill all of us, but I’ve had times where thirty of us have stood outside an unlocked door waiting for a teacher with a key. Gotta check the obvious.

^ The source is from posters admitted off the waitlist (OperaDad and roneald, I think); you’ll see them if you go back a few pages.
