!!!!Official 2013 Intel STS Thread!!!!

Where do you go to log on? Can’t remember which email I used, and I can’t find the link… Seriously, this whole thing is buried so deep into my memory that I can’t remember.

I’ve just given up on badges. For what it’s worth though, there were quite a few in the top 40 last year who never signed up for their badges, so I wouldn’t think they “make sure from the beginning that all semifinalist were in the badge system.” I am probably going to get up early tomorrow to see if I got semis (school is closed tomorrow), SO EXCITED.

Is the website crashing for anyone else? Crazy. I’m not even able to access the site because apparently its servers are saturated. The results aren’t even out for another 13 hours!! Ahhh…

wait which site?

The Society for Science’s Intel STS page (where I assume the semis will be posted).

same here. they’re probably going to release all of the badges tomorrow morning when the semis are released.

Good luck to everyone! I think that people applying in the coming years might benefit if semifinalists (I am sure there might be many in CC!) posted their stats when results come out tomorrow! If you aren’t a semifinalist, you can still post if you want.

omg so scared :frowning: 10 hours!!!

same!! Good luck to everyone!!!

Does anyone know what time zone the 7:00 am is referring to?

7:00 am Eastern time.
Did everyone just get the email about badging? They must have gotten several inquiries. So sounds like they are doing badging after the announcement.

Good luck, guys! For those who proceed further. would you mind posting a quick synopsis of your project or what topic you guys did? I’m just curious as to what types of projects generally do well. I’m a sophomore, so I have two years to get this research optimized.

Less than an hour left…

Found the link! I’m a semi finalist! WOOT! http://member.societyforscience.org/document.doc?id=515

semifinalist!!!

and now can’t wait for badges  AHHHH BEST DAY

Me too! And half of NY… LOL

Didn’t make it, but I’m okay with it because that’s what I was expecting. Especially given the people competing from my school. And my bad GPA. Oh well.

Does anyone know if there is some way to update application with new info such as college acceptances?

jamini The semi-finalist announcement says in the .pdf:

“Colleges and universities regard the Intel STS semifinalist award to be evidence of exceptional academic promise. Each semifinalist is provided with a certificate of accomplishment which may be sent with his or her applications for college admission and scholarships.”
