<p>@bobjohnson the cutoff is predetermined by CEE even before the test is released, so if the cutoff is too low then it’s CEE’s fault. Why they don’t determine the curve after tallying scores, i don’t know. There have been some years where the cutoff was too high and only about 400 people qualified for semis and some where the cutoff was too low and around 700 people qualified. If the cutoff is 25, then this might be one of the years in which CEE overestimated the difficulty of the test.</p>

<p>My school did have all AP biology students take the exam (around 80), so if a lot of other schools did that, that may have depressed the score.</p>
<p>Edit: unless CEE really does decide on a cutoff beforehand, in which case I’m totally wrong on this.</p>

<p>Same here but I’m suspicious due to the fact that they recently deleted one of their posts and also that the profile was created today.</p>
<p>I called CEE as a parent/coach and this info was given to me by an administrator. It is reasonable since the cut off has been around the mid to high 20s in the past. I deleted my recent post because if you don’t believe me then you can wait another day…</p>
<p>24 was the cutoff and 6403 students took the test last year. Maybe they told **topgun65 **the results from last year??? Why would they announce the cutoff without releasing the scores. It makes no sense to me…</p>
