just saying…all these board posts have people saying people dont have 2200-2300s, they’re getting rejected…that can’t be true, judging from the class of 2014 profile…people do get in with lower test scores. i think (hope) there must be some tradeoff.

also, I am applying to middlebury, vassar, skidmore, bowdoin, brandeis, colgate, dartmout, & a few others.

@mikeyy: I’m applying to Williams, Amherst, Dartmouth, Wesleyan, Tufts, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Trinity, Bates, and Northeastern.

@newbeginnings55: I sure hope so because my SAT Reasoning scores aren’t the best. I have a friend in the Class of 2013 who had scores in the 500s on every section of the SAT and a C on her transcript, but she is a URM (hispanic) from Oakland, CA and first gen.

All the other information online says otherwise (that test scores aren’t everytihng) & I think on college confidential, people are trying to put each other down and make themselves feel better, or discourage people from applying…until I saw this discussion board I thought I was a competitive applicant and I’m not going to let some anonymous person dissuade me for thinking that. We’ll find out in 10 days anyways!

Clearly we should have thought this through when sending in our applications. Who cares about the academics, sports, social life, or food at a certain school… we should be picking based on when the earliest decisions are made!

Does anyone know how exactly we will find out? I know the letters will be mailed the 15th, but what about online? Will there be an email, or is it through our application account? Thanks!

The admissions office told me an e-mail. One of my friends whose father works at Williams says that we are going to receive and e-mail at 8 p.m. EST.

8 PM EST on the 15th, yes? Earlier someone had said it could be as early as the 10th… but we haven’t actually been contacted at all.

Related question: some people from other schools have been receiving emails BEFORE they get the decision, will the decision be the first email we get (I’m trying to judge how much to freak out the next time I see a Williams Admissions Department email).

When my daughter went through this two years ago, the decisions were available at 8pm on the 15th. I wouldn’t expect them any sooner. You will get an email letting you know when the decision is available, but the email will not bear the news. Well, that’s how they did it two years ago, not sure if they’ve changed that part.
