I finished AP Calculus BC (5) in 10th grade.
It was last class which was offered at my school.
In 11th grade I took Math 275 at city college, this year self study Linear Algebra.

With Science I am OK too.
9th grade Hon. Biology ,
10th grade AP Chemistry (5),
11th Grade AP Physics C (5, 5),
12th grade Engineering

English - 4 years of high school English plus in 10th grade I took extra first year college composition class.

So, I really don’t know, why they waitlisted me.
I can see only one reason, I am low income.

hang in there. theres no way you were waitlisted because they felt you couldn’t hang at SLO - i think you and anybody who sees your stats knows that. youve been waitlisted for some other reason, could be a numbers (capacity) issue, could be that with your strong stats they question if SLO was just a “safety”. if you really want to go to SLO, follow through on their wait list procedures early and carefully. and as others have said, your stats will open good doors for you elsewhere. congrats on your successful high school career and stay patient as it pays off even if its not at the speed you would wish. be well.

Why not call Cal Poly and ask them why? I think that is the only way you will truly know. Plus, it will further demonstrate your keen interest in their school. If you do call and you don’t mind sharing, please let us know the answer. If not, it’s understandable. I wish you the best.

@Seniorfo – I know how incredibly frustrating this can be. I truly feel bad for you. However, please do not speculate that the reason why you were wait listed was due to low income. Cal Poly is not allowed to factor that in. Ability to pay, if it comes into play at all, is not applied to in-state CA residents. There must be another reason and it could very well be that they have too few spots in Aero for too many applicants. Call the school and state your case. Also, if you are accepted and take you off the wait list, do not hold it against thee institution – it is not personal. Take the offer when you get it and I am sure that you are high up on the list.

Does anyone know more about the psychology program?

I am wondering if Cal Poly did not notice that you took math at college as a junior because without that you only have two years of math in high school and I think they require 3 and I don’t think they would count your self study either.

Cal Poly wants 4 years of lab science. Is the engineering course you took counted as a lab science on your HS’s approved UC/CSU list of courses? If not, you could have lost points for that. Also, did you have any work experience related to your major? That is another factor Cal Poly considers. Anyway, as other posters have said, your stats are great and you will have tons of great choices. But I would still call admissions and talk to them.

I have 5 math classes in my high school transcript.

I have 4 math classes from the same high school (Precalculus in 8th grade, but took it at my high school, AP Calculus AB and AP Stat in 9th, AP Calculus BC in 10th) plus 1 college math class as a dual enrollment.

My school doesn’t have more science classes. I could take only AP Biology, but it was conflict with my Engineering class. Also I could take regular Physics after AP Physics C, but it would be pointless.

Durring summers I took:
Flight Science, Regular Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Fundamentals of Computer Science and Investigation in Engineering (all at CTY) and MACH level 3 at NASA Space Camp

bjlimcdi -
I don’t understand what you mean by “last year, only two enrolled of 26 admitted students of Son’ HS.” Do you mean that 26 applied and only 2 were admitted? Please clarify. Thanks.

I have a question about the terms of admission.

On the Terms and Conditions page on the CP website ([Newly Admitted - Admissions - Cal Poly](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)) it says that you must maintain the GPA that was reported on the application. Does that mean that if my GPA was 3.97W from grades 9-11, that I must graduate with at least a 3.97W from grades 9-12?

“You accurately report your college preparatory coursework and grades on your Application for Admission as they appear on your transcript at the time of application and you complete all coursework designated on your application as “in progress” or “planned” with a grade of “C” or better while maintaining your reported overall grade point average.”

Also, on the CSU Mentor Application for CP did you list the CSU GPA using grades 10-11 or the Cal Poly GPA using grades 9-11?
